| Have to say the more I think about it the more excited I am at the prospect of Agar taking charge. He knows this is a huge chance for him to shine and he is a very driven guy and I think he will give this a real go.

Because we need British coaches developing, its important for our game to develope here that we have our own people in place. The Aussies like Bomber and Peter have helped us develope to a higher standard and to push on we need to back our own.
I do not think we will ever compete with the knuckledraggers in the international field, heck its there No1 sport out there.

| Good luck to Richard Agar. For me it's the right decision.

I really hope so Paul.
I have reservations about the appointment but I will support him and I look forward to posting on here either later this season or next season admitting i was wrong and congratulating the board on their choice.

I have no doubt that he'll put enormous effort into the job.
Still not convinced that this is the right move at this time.

| Haven't read the whole of the 23 pages, but in the Metro today he says
Quote
They have had almost four years to look at me and see what I am capable of.

Going on the direction the club has taken recently... well over the last 2 seasons really, I would say that the above quote doesn't fill be with the greatest of confidence... and possibly suggests lack of ambition from the club as opposed to them being really impressed with Agar. We'll see though.
Warrington, no doubt will go for Folkes or Murray for next season. They seem to be ambitious and forward thinking.

| Surely forward thinking is building a franchise that has a team of homegrown talent that you have nurtured.
Yep, that sound like wire and not us.

It's ok nurturing homegrown talent, but if they are not good enough, what then?

Seriously, why do you bother getting up in a morning, when did you last have a positive thought?

| The one thing that strikes me about this appointment is that the board clearly had no plan for next season in terms of who would be coaching us. We are halfway through the season and Sharp's contract was due to expire, as they have now given the job to Agar they clearly had no plans in place to change the coaching set-up next season (unless Agar was always going to be the man). This is just really poor planning by the board and suggests to me they are re-active rather than pro-active.
I was more than happy for Agar to have the job until the end of the season (once Sharp was shown the door) so I will reserve judgement on his permanent appointment until he has had time to get the team playing how he wants them to.

| If the news of Crocker on the Website and Grapevine is true then the point of whether we can attract top quality players to the club is at the moment blown out the water.
Hope this signing is true this time as he is an excellent aquisition to any side SL or NRL!
Also shows some intent from the board too!!
