He's been a head coach for about a decade, not an amazing CV at Leigh and Toronto but I meant he's not an assistant learning his trade like Hodgson, Radford, Last, Agar which we keep thinking is a good idea and hoping for the best

| Think when you look at things pragmatically the players are the biggest issue and as pmarrow pointed out with the numbers of players that have been rewarded with extended deals even when failing sets an environment of failure is acceptable.
I don’t believe Hodgson is the man to take us forward but neither do I believe core players aren’t a massive problem and should be moved in asap and certainly not given any extensions.
To get rid of another coach just adds to the player power as they will have seen off another coach and most likely be pleased with themselves.
The are certain players that whilst taking the pay they receive they are in affect sticking two fingers up to the owner and fans with performances like the 2nd half last night.
BH if he is to save his job should say to AP that he needs to drop a number of players and then go with youth to see the season out.
The more I try to let last nights game go the more I get angry with so called professional players

| People on here and fans in general can go and on and have there opinions and who’s to blame and who’s not trying but are we really qualified to judge that . Sometimes a player can miss a tackle, but most the time it’s the person inside who’s fault it is or looks like there’s no effort, but can be from been overworked , maybe the coaches see this has they are more experienced and qualified to judge this and sometimes we identify the wrong players . Hodgson has said the effort second half from some was poor , but some fans , especially on here do seem to jump on certain players and are scapegoats and others jump on the bandwagon , instead of having their own opinion . But who was trying and who wasn’t ! Last week most people wanted Shaun and griffin and never to play again , they wasn’t involved last night …. So what is the answer

| Quote: pmarrow "Its getting silly and desperate when we are aspiring for Paul Rowley. Salford are benefitting from Leeds,Wire, Rovers and ourselves not hitting the heights we should be. I doubt they will stay around if the four teams ive mentioned shape up.
Just having a quick look and a staggering 9 players are still at the club from the awful 2018 season. 13 players from 2019 and a staggering 19 players from Radfords last season at the club.
Who the hell is giving these contracts out ? Who keeps rewarding failure ? That is the problem we have, no standards whatsoever. I used to think it was a confidence thing and hope a winning run would sort that but when you see them stats it looks like weve tried polishing a turd for too long.
If Hodgson goes these lot wouldnt fair much better then they are. They are poor players lets be honest and an even worse team.'"
Wow what a sense of entitlement what heights should you be reaching ? It's on the field not the stands or the wallets where the matches are won or lost, we're sixth based on what we acheive as a team, we have a tiny squad who all play for each other not to mention ten out injured and two suspended today but to quote that ar*e from Hull Wilkin we're flimsy no steel no backbone no minerals, let us keep benefiting from the fact leeds wire and yourselves are "making us look good" think about that one and re-read your post you may find out some answers.

Why ? are you saying Hodgson is better than Rowley ? bet you said Radders or anyone was better than Watson ? I'll guarantee you wouldn't be where you are now if you had either of them blokes. Keep Hodgson we don't want silly and desperate.

Radford is a more successful coach and player then Watson, thats a fact. Ive never said Hodgson was better then Rowley either, just stating we should be aiming for better given the amount of money we spend compared to yoursrlves.
Dont get why your so touchy I respect Salford as a club and your club has being a breath of fresh air the last few seasons. However they are teams who spend alot more then you who should be doing alot better. That is fact.

I stand by what I say all them clubs should be doing better given the budgets given and if they all reached the heights they should be I dont see Salford in the six.

| Quote: pmarrow "Reading some of Radfords interviews this week he is right on one thing, this squad here now is here because the regime after signed them up. Too many contracts given out to the players who havent earned it and for me we shipped the wrong players out (barring reynolds). Something which has being poor since Clarke took over them reigns from Tony.
Weve had bad injuries but we should be turfing out so much more. If Hodgson was to go its Criminal that some of these players would see a third head coach. Your talking about players who contributed to a 13 match losing run and then won one of its last 9 games the next season.
For me it wont change till alot of this team is moved on. Theyve had enough chances now, its time to cut the cloth and accept they are not good enough.'"
I think he’s wrong about Taylor, he gave him a 5 year deal which he’s still in?

| Quote: mwindass "What have McGuire and Brown done in the NRL recently?
Madge has played a massive role in Wests being where they are. Same with Brown at the Warriors and Knights. I don't think they'd solve our problems.
I'm not Kevvie Walters biggest fan, but look at what he's done at the Broncos. Brisbane seem to have the pick of Qland when it comes to youth, but he's lifted them from wooden spoon to top 4 in 2/3 seasons. Promotion of youth plus smart recruitment (Reynolds and Capewell) has turned them around.
Similar with Todd Payten at the Cowboys too, everyone had them down to win the spoon.
Admittedly though, even my patience is starting to wear thin. God knows what Pearson thinks.
Ill still counter that the playing group, especially the senior boys are the bigger problem. For all this 'pride in the shirt' BS that gets spouted, when the going gets tough no one wants to know.'"
The four men I highlighted, is not only they are GF winners, but they have changed culture, attitude, determination with an existing group of individuals.
When a new Manager, states he needs a mass clear out of players, this indicates he cannot change the mindset of the players, that is he lacks man management skills .
Up to and including the Warrington game, the effort and work rate was there, but since that game, the attitude has nose dived , Is it the binning of Reynolds??
People will point the finger at, players who have been here since 2016/2017, but . how many played on Friday?
Hodgson stated, the players lack confidence, but he fails to grasp, that's his job as a Manager, to produce a vibrant atmosphere, instill confidence , leadership, motivation etc etc
I have zero confidence in Hodgson's ability to turn this around.

Which BH has already started to do. Sneyd, Bowden and Shaul now gone. Johnstone probably gone at the end of the season. Leaves Houghton, Taylor, Griffin, Carlos(?). Carlos is a fantastic, classy player and whilst he may not be part of the ‘Hull Mafia’, he should be included in that list of players who have come from the CC cup winning days and has missed a lot of the past two years through injury.
And I know Connor is too, but without him we’d already be bottom 3-4 this season. He’s massive for us.

Carlos certainly not in the group of the 'Hull Mafia'
The guy loves the club and i know for certain he's hurting at the moment with what's going on.
He is a true professional and lives his life right off the pitch and not been one bit of bother since arriving.
He's already started his rehab and is determined to be back fitter and stronger.
As i said to someone yesterday, losing Motu Tony was huge for this club and we haven't recovered from it.

Not true, I saw him park on the double yellows at willerby road shops once. Get rid!
Really though, have to agree. Carlos is a model pro and when fit was one of few who looked at all d. I’d have said the same for Sneyd who could and would kick us out of trouble when we weren’t producing on the pitch. Sincerely hope he wanted to leave and it wasn’t just us shipping him out in favour of Gale.

Sneyd left to be closer to his family.
His wife is a teacher too. She got something lined up in Oldham
