| Quote: chukabutt "The bottom line is that a couple of years ago he was the best thing since sliced bread, he was (still is) young and English, a fantastic try scorer, one of the fastest in super league and now since Messiah Agar decides he is not good enough then apparently he is NL1. I remember him being dropped and being out on loan, coming back to score 7 tries in 6 games and it only (in your lots eyes) substantiated how inept Agar actually is unfortunately i cannot be bothered to sit here and look at the last 3 years posts.
I also remember people laughing when some of our fans stated he was signing a couple of years ago as he was far too good and ambitious for us!!!
Now that he is SIGNING hes S.H.I.T and your glad he will be off the payroll and not only that he is now only a good NL1 player who is out of his depth in SL.
I get the blinkers i really do (I often have them) but sometimes people should really think about whatthey have said/typed previously before they post again!!!'"
I have been a critic for at least a year, so nothing to do with him joining Rovers from me.
he has the potential, and I hope that the change of scenery allows him to reach it...but there's no point dressing the situation up, he's a liability in defence, and is being kept out of the team by Whiting, a player with little pace who hasn't been playing well on the wing anyway.
3 years ago you could accept his defensive lapses, as the raw talent was there...3 years on and we expect better.

| Quote: chukabutt "But wether you like this statement or not do you not agree that a coach like Morgan could just do that. I know that its a 50/50 split but half your fans think that Agar is not up to the job with experienced internationals never mind a young English kid.
Morgan has proved time and time again that he can bring players on more so in my opinion with the younger players than the vetrans.'"
Morgan has proved time and time again that he can bring players on
Which players are these then?
I can think of 3 examples, which makes your statement look stupid!
Cooke went backwards..
Briscoe has had a poorish season so far..
Welham has one of the worst defences in SL..

Hall has failed to progress under two FC coaches, one of whom had an excellent reputation for bringing on young players in the NRL. And other youngsters have developed under the same two coaches. IMO coaching [imay[/i be part of the issue but it's more likely that he just hasn't handled the situation he found himself in at FC all that well. He's very much a confidence player and a bad game will ruin him for weeks.
A fresh start at a new club might be what he needs to kick on, but it won't be down to the coaching in particular.'"
agree!! briscoe and houghton been fine examples.

Its amazing how many negatives you can find when you need them aint it!!!
Yeah you are right however, lets start at the back
1. Shaun Briscoe now an England International (didnt happen in your shirt)
2. Peter Fox, England International and a dream team winger for last year
3. Michael Dobson, strugled to get a contract for either Wigan or Cats on his 2 years previous to Rovers but last years (and probably this as well) no 7 for the Dream Team.
4 Ben Galea makes Dream Team under Morgan
5. Newton Makes Dream team under Morgan
Actually out of 13 players i believe we had 4 in last years Dream Team, not bad for players playing under Morgan really is it.
Out of curiosity how many players have made the dream team under Agar so far?

That was down to timing more than anything else.
Quote: chukabutt "2. Peter Fox, England International and a dream team winger for last year'"
Now bumped out his England spot by Briscoe, who made his debut under Agar.
Quote: chukabutt "3. Michael Dobson, strugled to get a contract for either Wigan or Cats on his 2 years previous to Rovers but last years (and probably this as well) no 7 for the Dream Team.'"
Now I know you're having a laugh. Most Rovers fans think he's having a poor season.

Both now looking shadows of last season's players.

How many do you think you'll have this season?
Look - I don't want this descending into a Rovers v FC "who has the best coach" thread. Morgan had the better season last year, so far Agar is on top this year. Nobody has claimed that Morgan is a poor coach, just not quite the mastermind you paint him to be.

Think you will find that Morgs had a better year the one before as well, well according to the table he did.
Dont put Brisc down by saying it was timing as that is unfair, I would love to see your Brisc in our Team, Dobbo is absoloute class and if you could you would have him tom, i also beleive that to be true of Galea and Newton, but i was questioned about the progress of players which i beleive i answered regarding their progress after joining Rovers under Morgs or have i missed something?

That wasn't meant as a pop at Briscoe at all. He played just as well for us as he did for you but was kept out of England by Wellens being the default choice until very recently. Sad to see him lose his place again so soon.

I honestly wouldn't trade Long for Dobson. I've never been a fan of Dobson's, regardless of who he played for. I'd also argue that all three players were already of a pretty good standard when they came to you.
Anyway - none of this is particularly relevant to the thread. You believe that Morgan can realise Hall's potential where others have failed. That's fine. I'm more doubtful that coaching is at the core of Hall's issues. Either way I hope he succeeds wherever he goes - I like watching him and there aren't enough quality English centres IMO.

Thanks for your honesty and lack of blinkers as its sometimes nice to hear an honest opinion.
I feel i made my point and that you made yours and although we will probably but heads till hell freezes over at least we can have a civil and honest debate about it

Dobson is pants!!....can't be d to reply to the rest because it is silly....Morgan is getting found out this year...very average coach
For me Morgan is a fixer he would do for Crusaders what Nobby is presently doing, pulls teams up but as yet Morgan has not proven he can be consistent with a team..AGAIN he is unable to take credit for developing ANY player into a special/international player....Agar=Tom Briscoe

I was gonna try and argue the fact that Dobbos 9 trys this year sit him only 2 behind your Briscoe and only one in front of your next highest try scorer (beleive it or not thats Hall on i was gonna try and then throw in his 60 points from the boot, I wanted to use the fact that he is in the top 3 points scorers not only this year but in the previous 2, i then thought of using his dream team status and one of the favourites for last years man of steel, but then as you put hes CRAP how can i argue that

Being as Briscoe and Fox both gained international honours under Morgan then i suppose he could take that credit, unless of course he cant because he never bleed them so then neither can Agar although he can take credit for a top 2 team falling from grace with a consistant 10th place!!
