| I think people get a bit carried away with the word "spin". Promoting the game is not spin.
As has already been said they can hardly say "It's Wigan on Friday, we'll probably get tonked and the atmosphere will be a bit crap. By the way it's on telly if you want to save your money."

But claiming the team is in 'good form' and has lost only 3 of the last 13 games isn't 'promotion' or 'spin', it's a blatant lie.

It's so sad ( for me, don't know how others feel ) that compared to Wigan, Warrington, Saints, Huddersfield who have 3/4 top class pivots to create opportunities, we are struggling with 1 (Obst, and he's more of a 9 than a half back). Time to move Horne out of a pivotal position for me and give Washbrook, Westerman and Whiting the chance to create something for us and also be our option to kick the ball at end of our sets for the last 5 games. Watching Wigan's pivots at work against Warrington was a joy to see and admire, and sadly be jealous of as we are light years behind in this area. The running off the ball of the rest of their side to give their pivots options was sensational. I live in hope we will aspire to emulate this type of rugby.'"
As a Wigan supporter that's just how I feel. During the Noble era I was fed up of the lack of Pre-planned moves as I watched Wigan rely on risky off-loads or 5 drives and a kick. Of course as the play-offs came round the players lifted their game but always fell short because of old fashioned coaching. Maguire has been a breath of fresh air and I was amazed at what he did with the same squad (plus Deacon). Noble was even reluctant to play Sam Tomkins!
I feel that Hull have some great players and if they had Maguire as coach would be in the top 4 of the table. Agar is, sadly, not up to date with modern coaching. Of course, if the off-loads stick, Hull will be terrific but it's a dangerous ploy and can easily surrender possession to the opposition.
I hope Hull get a better coach and the club don't waste their money on players in key positions who are injury prone.

I would hope decisions about Fubar have been made, I doubt the result tomorrow or for the rest of the season matter.

Absolutely! If Washbrook has a future at Hull FC (which I doubt) it should not be at half back.

TBF I think Washbrook could make a decent second rower. He looked the part when he first broke onto the season. I don't think a combination of being messed about positionally and our poor coaching set up have helped.

That and being mediocre. We need better than him if we want to challenge for trophies.

Absolutely. Would Wigan, Warrington, Saints , Leeds or Huddersfield sign him? No. Would he be snapped up by an NRL side? No. Would he have a game changing influence for any side in the championship? No.
