maybe the club should install an xray machine on the bench in future! hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?

No just get a common sense one which would have told them not to send an injured player back onto the pitch in a meaningless friendly.

how would they know what injury it was? if nicklas told them he felt ok to go back on then they would've taken his word for it, just like when you go to the doctors, they can only go on what you tell them, feel sorry for the lad, but you cant blame the physios' or coaching staff!

It's not the first time this has happened. And guess what you just don't take a player's word for it either, their instinct is to want to be on the pitch. There was no reason for him to go back on at the weekend, their was to much risk involved in such a meaningless fixture. The coaching staff gambled and lost IMO.

nicklas wont be the first and last player to pick up an injury after returning to the field of play, it happens in most sports, pointing fingers isn't going to help.

Risk management obviously not a strong point for the FC staff then?
He'd already had an injury to the same leg (if that is deffo the case?), he's young so any further injury might ruin his career and as others have pointed out it was a friendly ('pointless' friendly I don't agree with). So at the first sign of a knock he should be off ASAP and stay off. Not to do so and to allow him to return to play on leaves the person/s making that decision culpable for the injury imho. At this stage of the season and the lads career you take no chances whatsoever.

Good luck lad, hope he gets full support both mentally & physically.

Of all the other positions we could possibly have coped with and we get this news , Shame for the kid as he would have probably played a big part this season.

Its not a question of pointing fingers, whoever's decision it was, it was a bad call in a meaningless match and it could cost us dear.

It is worrying that its not the first time either.

Given Danny's recent past injury problems perhaps a more cautious approach would have been in order.

few on here are blaming the coaching staff and physios', which in my eyes is finger pointing, cruel as it may sound, would nicklas have been our answer to our problems at 6 and 7? i doubt it, nicklas will come back stronger next season, the club have said they will make sure he gets the best treatment
