We actually had nothing to lose against Wigan - always going to be a write-off with the injuries - and I expected him to play at least a couple then (not just Nicklas for 5 minutes).
I think Quins is the must win game, and by not giving the kids a try out on Friday Agar is still in the same "don't know - dare I risk them?" situation he was last week. If he has any balls he'll try Horne at fullback, Tansey and Nicklas in the halves and Lyne on the wing. But I bet he won't. He seems scared stiff to launch youngsters.
What he should have been doing is introducing each off the bench when we were playing well, giving him serious options now, instead of this "have to take this untried plunge" situation he now finds himself in.
Look what happened when Houghton [ihad[/i to step up - do people think for a second that Houghton would have had this chance if Berro wasn't injured? Horne, Yeamo and Cooke were started when very young, why hasn't Agar got the courage of his predecessors? Eastmond? Tomkins?
If they really aren't good enough they shouldn't be in the first team squad.... but then Agars been shouting the odds about finally have strength in depth this season. Really? Then prove it pdq before we enter the playoffs with the kids STILL untried.
