Excellent post! a lot of his "bad press" as you put it was clearly down to being in a position that wasnt suited to his style whereas prop suits him down to the ground and he has clearly had a great season so far in that role, as for the captaincy to Lee its a matter of leading from the front in RL rather than the pycops role ala Fitz but one which Lee has done time after time when it gets rough !!
Well worth another contract , and at the end of the day who is there to replace him thats better

This has been nailed on for weeks along with Dowes on a 2 year deal. I am happy with Radford at prop, he takes the ball up well and hits hard. It's noticeable he is playing better rugby this year whilst playing at prop and getting spelled so he does not have to play so many minutes.

One year is right for me.

Isnt that a lot of fans mis-understanding the role he played then? Radford played prop last season whether named at 13 or 8. Is it just that some fans dont understand that and expected different things off him when named at 13?

That sums up the stupidity of Agar of play a prop at loose forward.

I dont agree with the tactic of playing a prop at 13 but i do think it sums up more the stupidity of some fans to not realise that the team dynamic has changed and that loose forward isnt a ball handler in our gameplan. Fitz is a prop too. Sadly Radders doesnt perform at the level Fitz does and doesnt have the career reputation that Fitz has otherwise he might not have been called crap by some fans for the last 2 years.

Radders has done a decent job this season so far.

IMO he doesn't have the game to figure at 13 regardless of the changes to the role over the years. You still need a bit more mobility and craft than he has now, and also the ability to play more minutes. Not his fault that he was asked to play there but his effectiveness was much less than when playing a 'traditional' propping role as he is now.

Have to agree with that assessment of him as a 13/prop. What I do think is good is that he has stepped into a true prop's role this year and, in his first year , is doing a very good job.

Should only be keeping one of him or Dowes, both the same player, disappointed really.

Everyone knows the current side is miles off the top clubs yet we'll go into next season with pretty much the same squad

off contract, none of whom I'd be looking to sign on again so massive recruitment challenges. Personally I'd be looking to more on one of dowes and radford and replace with a prop who will be with us for min 3 seasons
