last season wasnt a great year but wasnt a bad year for me just a steady season were we got back on the horse type of speech after a couple of poor years. i find it very odd that people are deciding not to get an pass this season even though they got 1 last season and that was after a dissapointing 2009 season, anyway im hull through and through and have always got a season pass and will carry on to do so.

" Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere " Wayne Bennett King Of Coaches:

The club is truely blessed with loyal supporters who would turn up to watch 13 black & white statues (some times I think we may have). I think that says more about the spirit of the people of Hull more than anything the club does or does not do.

That said although the fans turn up in their numbers with differing levels of partisan support, people are not idiots. We are weathering the worst recession on record with incredibly high unemployment levels, rising petrol prices & an immenent increase in VAT, this coupled with a percieved lack of a top level half back pairing and a negative style of play will understandably make people think twice with regards to parting with what is now a significant entrance fee.

That said as we all know we are only two good friendly wins away from believing we will win the league again.

It's pathetic if people are not going because of who is running the club or coaching the team or indeed playing for the team. Especially given what we have put up with in the past.

I guess for some people it's probably a combination of things. My dad doesn't go because of the cost. I'm not going because i've finally got fed-up of watching the same boring rugby. I bought a pass last year because i enjoy the laugh with my mates. The cost of the pass and the boring rugby as well as now having a job away from home mon-fri has made me decide not to renew. There's only so much some of us will tolerate. I class myself as a loyal fan black & white through and through. I will not however give my money in return for nothing. (and i guess i look for more of a return or a slightly different return to what other do on here, which has been established over time by the debate around results vs performance etc)

As Wolfie said earlier 'it's your call'.

If your belief is that your 'giving your money in return for nothing' I would suggest you've made the right decision!

I haven't renewed the passes for my wife and I yet. Also bought a pass for my son last year which we will not be renewing.
The real reason for this is the rugby is boring. Not just at Hull but thoughout the game. Four drives, one spread and a kick is the tactics of most teams. There is probably more kicking now in a Super League game than in some of the recent Rugby Union games on Sky although most still refer the the game as Kick and Clap. The kicking in RL needs to be reduced. If kicked dead, or made dead by a defender in the In Goal area the start should be moved to the half way line thus punishing the poor kick. This would bring back the need for the crafty half back to break down teams with ball handling skills.
I'll probably still renew our passes because it's in the blood but I do question my sanity when as we are leaving for a game my wife asks "shall I take my book with me?". Sums up the entertainment factor for me.

Yup, thats my thinking. By my reckoning it'll save me around £1k-£1.5k with beer money and away trips. On that basis i've booked an all inclusive holiday and think that's a better option for me and my family to get value for money. icon_lol.gif

Could not agree more about the kicking.

Would like to see trys that come from kicks reduced to 3 points, in order to encourage trys from passing.

I'm not sure altering the reward will change anything. I believe the reason why more tries now come from kicks is because of the increased fitness levels of defenders and because of defenders better techniques through more advanced coaching etc as the game has evolved. It may be better to look at other options like quickening the ptb through not allowing the wrestle

I think im the only person on here who enjoys the whole wrestling aspect as some skills are technically superb. If we get rid of the wrestle all what will happen is we will go back to scooting from acting half been what wins you games, which was the case when Saints were dominant. Also halves wont need any skill to unlock a defence that is retreating.
