3 clubs have paid circa 400k for him in total, so coaches obviously see something in him. Id see him as a great long term replacement for mini (Who I wish would keep going forever, sensational player).

Our starting back rowers are a bit injury prone now. Our youngsters and Washy are alright be we definitely look weaker when Hadley, Mini or Manu are out. Having Westerman fills the squad out nicely.

Pearson and Ellis aren't daft. They will have him on a deal that favours the club.

If anyone thinks we should sign a better forward for this season then I challenge them to name one.

I'm intrigued to know why he's leaving Toronto months after they spent a not insignificant £140k...

Yeah that would be my question too. Lack of application? not buying into the ethos? either way, hes still a quality player at his best and no poorer than Turgit at his worst.

He is a decent enough player, but its a team sport and he would often either play one out rugby or get involved too much and not let the halves do their job.

If its a 6 months tide over until next season, that would be ok, but I would hope we would have a longer term plan than Joe Westerman.

Its probably all about Dynamics really with one young loose forward appearing to be in dispute with Radford a top second rower not signed up for next season yet and another considering whether to call it a day (which at his age Mini must at least be thinking about) it makes more sense. Hull FC never had a problem with Westerman percee and that was indicated when I was told ages ago that he got on well with Radford but wouldn't be returning to the Club whilst Wattsy was here. Read into that what you will! If he comes and its by no means certain he will, he'll only come on a Kelly type deal where he has to prove his worth. He's certainly not worth a long contract yet.

A lot seem really concerned about this but in the end you have to trust Adam and Lee they haven't got many wrong of late and after getting rid of Wattsy they won't be in a hurry to sign anyone who is going to be a liability. I remember it on here when Kelly signed.

Terrible player. All reputation and no substance. Unprofessional and anonymous in big games. Inferior player to Abdul. Absolutely gutted if this is true.

100% agree, if we have signed him then it's bad news.

if and it is a if, we sign him imo could be a decent signing, Abdul for whatever reason is just not cutting it at hull and maybe time for him to be moved on, we don't know the ins and outs but westy wouldn't be the worst signing we have made,

Quote: Hasbag "If we can get him on the pitch immediately I'd snap him up, but not on a long term contract. 1.5 year deal with a view to sign him up longer term if he can prove himself. And on a strict contract where if he puts his foot out of line he gets released. Just don't want to run the risk of him getting up to no good off the field with Watts and spending most of their time drinking together.'"

More likely to be offered a deal like Kelly in the first year

Westerman on one leg is better than Turgut at the moment.
Turgut needs a full season out on loan and a decision on his future at Hull made after that.

Can see Abdul going back to Rovers to be fair, he would slot straight in to their 17 to with Addy being out long term.

I like Abdul and think he is a talented player but for some reason it just doesn't seem to work for him at FC. Thought he'd make a great ball playing 13 for us and give us an extra edge.

Very undecided on hww I feel if Westerman returned to the club to be fair

Not too sure about Westerman being the answer for us; a lazy player. However, the article settles the noise about salary cap availability some posters obsessed on.
