watts has potential but it would be a massive risk for him to be one of our 4 first choice props. bowden has pretty much sewn up the 5th prop spot so I fail to see where watts would fit. As staffs says, he can't even get in rovers team and I'd be disappointed if we replace o'meley or moa with him. If we replace them both with johnson and watts then it will be a disaster. I hope gentle has a couple of top quality forwards still to be announced

Personally I can't see the problem in signing a young british prop who was in the England squad less than a year ago.

Unless he can't even hold down a place in the starting 17 of the club sitting in 9th place

Fair play to you. The last time I saw him was in the KC derby where he was poor. Last week he lost his place in the KR team. He's also lost his place in the England squad. Regardless of recent injury I would have given O Meley another year if we are losing Moa for some continuity. I'm looking higher than Watts. I would however accept Lovegrove who IMO is better than Watts and another top quality prop as replacements for the two.

But you don't rate Sandy as a coach.

Under a good coach he should do better, i've seen poor props go on to be very good players under good coaching.

And thats if nothings gone on behind the scenes and its just ability.

He's working under a rubbish coach though. Turner and Sharp both looked dodgy under Agar. I don't know enough about Watts to form an opinion either way, I'm just offering up a suggestion.

Any realistic players in NRL who could replace Moa/Ogre? I don't see as much of it as i would like to.

Lovegroves a good solid player, Watts imo has a little more to his game, mainly his ability to get the ball away.

If Moa is to leave i'd probably agree with you on O'Meley, my main worry would be signing a prop past his best, someone like Brett Kite even worse Asotasi, and using a lot of cap space on him. Theres not a abundance of props in the NRL.

Newcastle might be releasing a couple Tuimavave or Fa'aoso?

I can't see any of these young props, Kasiano, coming over, theres going to be too much money in the Nrl soon.

The club will have to go overseas for a prop to replace moa and ogre and a 1 english prop i suspect

You've only got to look at the way Watts took the pi$$ out of us in the 2010 playoff Derby to see the talent he has.
Just needs a fresh start IMO.

Think he needs a mentor type prop for a bit of guidance which Lynch would be superb at.
