| Quote Keiththered="Keiththered"I don’t like to see excellent club stalwarts receiving criticism. Not sure whether Houghton has gone on too long or he is not being used properly. I’m a great believer that players should retire a year too early rather than a year too late. Doing the latter tends to diminish their legacy.'"
James Roby is three years older than Houghton but they both became regular starters around 2011. Those extra years spelling Cunnigham has helped him extend his career (I'm not comparing Houghton and Roby in quality, of course).

| Was it the 58th minute when our lot where all crouched knackered with there hands on there knees.
Same crap, different season
Still got attitude problems
Still got fitness issues
And still looks as though we've a coach who can't get a grip of it.
Back to the starting 13 from the Leeds game for me. Then let them earn the shirt and keep it.

You watch saints and their defence is allover everyone like a rash. Doesn't matter how good you are when you're smothered by fitter and stronger athletes for 80 minutes. It's fundamental in modern RL and we're miles behind.

I’ve just watched the Saints v Wigan game, it’s restored my wonder at how our game should be played, absolutely superb entertainment, both teams excellent, but that Sam Powell tackle made me shudder, have we gone from penalising every touch on a players collar, to ten minutes for a neck breaker, the madness of the RFL.

| Well I'm still disappointed by that performance. We have just seen our team play the two most important games of the season thus far, perhaps a season defining Cup quarter final and a local Derby which to most of us is more important than anything. We had won the last 4 Derby's and on those occasions we have at least got ourselves up for that game as we have in recent seasons for cup games but this season, even that seems to have waned. On both occasions both games were winnable and yet on both ocassions we were obviously not up for it. Our attitude, wanting and focus was way off and the leadership from our senior players none existent. . Since 2017 we have seen such performances on a regular basis in the not so important games and at the end of pointless seasons.Too often our application has seen players with obvious class just not at the races and the resolve of the whole team way off the mark.
Players and coaches have come and gone yet that malaise continues unabated and as I have said on so many occasions, to me it appears that the players at our club are just too comfortable and no one seems capable of shaking them out of it. One fan said leaving the Derby '.....I'm fuming they only really do any productive work for 80 minutes a week you'd think they could at least appear to want it and give their all for that time, we were clueless again today' and although it was perhaps a bit of a simplistic conclusion you could see his point. Quite frankly I'm just fed up of it, as fans we deserve better. We don't have to win every time but we do need the players to look as if they at least want to. Its certainly not the way to engender support for a club that is obviously facing tough times ahead.

Why is the derby more important than anything?
It's two points won or lost same as any other game. Only difference is local taking.

What an absolute tool. Just sums this lot up. Think all they have to do to win is turn up
