what a night, what a game, what an atmosphere in the last twenty minutes. It has to be the best game we've had since moving to the KC (in terms of drama if not in overall quality).
It was the kind of game that reminds you of just why it is we follow a team. Wading through the dross and disapointments (and heaven knows we've had enough of those nights these last two years) is all worthwhile when we get to see games like last nights.
You just know it is one of those games that we will still be talking about for years to come. For the time being though, I will be spending the weekend (and beyond) on an absolute high.
Come on you mighty Black & Whites.'"
NOW THAT IS WHAT i CALL A POST !!!!
THAT IS THE CONFIDENCE WE SHOULD HAVE

| Last time I saw anything like that was at The Boulevard against Wire.....We were 0 - 18 at half time......But still won.
BUT......as far as an exciting atmosphere and a comeback...
Wembley '85 against Wigan. OK we lost that one (cos we've never won there...as KR fans keep telling us LOL), but if only 'injury time' was played in RL....another three-five minutes more that day and our 'hoodoo' would've been shattered.
Anyway...enough of the past, thats what KR live in. Well Done FC, made my weekend complete. It was a pleasure witnessing the red and white regulars in Pelican trying not to mention rugby LOL

| It was a fantastic comeback, but we put ourselves in the position of needing to come back with some poor first half play. Our defence at times looked absolutely woeful, our discipline was awful and our attack one-dimensional.
All credit to the boys for pulling it together in the second half, when we looked a different side. But if we are really going to be contenders we need to start playing for 80 minutes.

I think some credit needs to be given to St Helens for their first half play. The speed at which they throw the ball out wide was partly the reason why Whiting was left so exposed. Also, Cunninghams trade mark try. We are not he first (or last) side to be suckered by that.
With regard to comebacks, I can remember a cup game against London Bronco's in 2001 in which we were 16-0 down in the first 20 minutes. Then Jason Smith took hold of the game.

Agree -
While everyone was moaning at half time about the ref I was praising St Helens for their play, some of the rugby they played was at times almost breathtaking. I called at least two of their trys from the stand as it was just a case of them pulling our (slow) defence around the pitch. There are not many wingers that could have dealt with the swarm of players coming at them, never mind a player filling in for that position.

They did play well in the first half, but they were helped enormously by the amount of possession we coughed up, the number of stupid penalties we gave away and our sliding defence not sliding.

You could see that one coming a mile off. Again, our defence was poorly organised and he took advantage.
The second half was a much better display and the biggest positive for me was our mental strength. It would have been easy for the team to collapse and be on the wrong side of a hammering, and this would indeed have been the case in the not too distant past.

Agree with that, and I don't think Whiting can be blamed for the tries we shipped in. The fact that they had so much ball in decent field position together with our defence being far too compressed were the main causes of their first half tries.

Have you tried 'sliding' on a dry pitch?
