You could be right . I just get fed up with people from FC or Rovers having a dig at Hull City and vice versa . The locals should stick together . At the moment all 3 get good crowds , Rovers 8k , FC 12k and City 24 K ( last season ) these stats are bloody good compared to gates of less than 1k for the rugby clubs and under 2 k ( protest match when people did not turn up ) for city's lowest league att. v torquay . A big improvement .

Yes , its so easy to pick a team that is successful but play 100 miles away ( man U ) and never get to see play live and in the flesh like many glory supporters I know .

To be fair mate there are plenty who have jumped on the Hull City bandwagon. The same has happened in Wigan with the Latics. Personally I get more riled by people who can flip from one team to another or suddenly start supporting a team then have a go at people who question their loyalty and length of support.

Yes , but they live locally . Teams that are successful get better gates than when they are not , and that includes Hull city , FC and Kr .

Some really great debate from 1pm to 2pm with Mayo , Burnsy , Doc , Steve Parry et al BUT............ NO Gwollum wonder why his dulcit tones never made 5 live.
Great advert for Hull though this 3 days...about 3-4 million well informed people listen to 5 live every day.

Can honestly say I've never met anyone who has changed the team they support. I'm also confused as to why its always Man Utd that get picked out as the team with "glory fans". Is it because they have had the most glory in the last 20 years? I actually know more Liverpool fans that aren't from Liverpool then I do Man Utd fans that aren't from Manchester.

I'm from Wigan and the town is full of them. I can remember half the people who are now lifelong Latics fans walking round in Liverpool, United and even Blackburn shirts as recently as 6 years ago.

Exactly. Not a word said about Chelsea fans in the North icon_lol.gif
Half of Wigan used to support Liverpool. These would be people born in the late 70's, early 80's. Coincidence? icon_lol.gif

There are a couple of Liverpool fans from Hull on the football thread.

Just a quick post to say that I've been impressed by almost everything I've heard from Hull this week. I've only been once and that was when I was little to the Boulevard. What came through was the underlying pride many of you have in your city. Hat's off to you.

Thanks for that. Hull has similar problems to any big city but seems to takes a kicking more than most.

There is plenty to be proud of though.

I watched Something for the weekend earleir and Tim Lovejoy was giving Hulll big wraps. He was up on Friday for a broadcast and used the train up and he went on about those as well, years since he has been on a rain. All backed up by Simon Rimmer, the scouse cook and it was all positive stuff about the city for a change.

Now you watch some halfwit go and score a home goal in the enxt week or two to undo it all.

Austin Mitchell from OPE anytime soon should do it icon_wink.gif
