when you look at his signings this year and last hes brought in quality players such as ogre,fitzy,long and westy with 2 young good potential players in turner and sharp, these signings are very good and hes also got rid of alot of deadwood kind of speak so recruitment wise hes been very good over the last 2 seasons but for me theres no way enough depth, as a club our biggests problem has been injuries so depth is vital but we aint got it and its so worrying going into the new season with only 18 maybe 19 senior players. i dont know wether the chase and sammut deal is likely to come off i doubt it tbh, are the club willing to shell out another 200k for chase again dont think so and again it would cost about upto 100k for sammut is it worth it dont know?, id be happy with just signing some good young players from other super league clubs or championship teams just to give the squad more depth, for halfback players such as gareth moore, gaz obrien from wire and sam powell from wigan stand out. it would also be nie to have a couple of young guys to cover centre and hooker but i know its hard now to sign top nrl players but theres plenty of young guys that would come over, look at cas with willie isa looks a decent player

I'm sorry but we won't sign a halfback better then Chase for 2012, if he isn't here for any other reason then we can't afford him whoever is in charge of recruitment is stupid, talk of the likes of Marshall and Cronk is insane.

I wouldnt agree that our recruitment has been very good. Problem is, Long was a gamble, a short term fix for a problem we have had for a few years now, for 2012 we need a complete new half back partnership, hopefully young enough to be around for a number of years. seen as though we have failed miserably this year to bring anyone in i hope they have some idea who they want to go for for 2012 and not leave it until the last minute.

maybe a daft idead but.....didnt we have some sort of fans fund for buying players in the boulevard days though the black n white association i think?? Couldnt we do something like this again get the fans raising money for a transfer fee for Chase (bucket collection, fun days, fun runs, ect ) with our fan base could soon raise part or most of the fee for Chase in no time.

TBH, I don't think it would matter greatly who we signed. Our game plan doesn't seem to involve the half backs other than for a kick on the last tackle, or to try a planned move once in the red zone.
