| Quote: FCFaithful Stu "Looks like there is a lot of uncertainty in Wayne Bennett's future at the Knights. Now that would be a statement of intent. Never happen not just because he would probably be offered the next NRL job available, but also family reasons. How great would it be though to be finally excited about a signing. With the current salary cap that is less and less likely to be for a player, why not focus on spending money on a top coach to get fans interested again.'" If that happened id go buy a season ticket for next season for my whole family tomorrow

Exactly, its OK for people like Koukash to shout about the players he is going to sign, its just not practical with a low salary cap and inferior competiton to the NRL. The way to grab attention is offer the coaching job to a massive name, big salaries with even bigger bonuses for success could work.

I'd rather AP change his policy of signing, player(s) on a big contracts to attract season passes,
to signing a proven Head Coach, give him the coaching staff he requires, ie divert funds from playing staff
to coaching staff.
Then, playing good rugby attracts more fans, produces more income.

Tony Smith was relegated with Huddersfield because their players weren't good enough. If you want a top coach they won't come unless they can recruit quality in the areas required.

At least you would hope with a great coach and the correct back room staff the constant and repetitive mistakes that we see each game would slowly disappear, the very mistakes that frustrate fans so much.

Then brought them back up again, stabilised the club and changed the culture and low and behold they were minor premiers last year. Which probably all began with the initial work he put in.

I think rovers have had the hardest 1st half of the season of all, away at wigan,warrington,saints,catalans,huddersfield,5 of the six hardest away matches, leeds would be the other one.So the 2nd half of the season has to be easier imo.

So if Des Hasler could get on a plane tomorrow you wouldn't welcome him and believe he could make a difference to the current FC squad. Yes you need players of a certain quality, I am just sick of watching FC teams not play to the ability present in the squad. Can't remember the last coach to consistently get the team playing better than the sum of individuals.

You won't get a top coach in unless there's recruitment money available. As for the Hudds model I can look forward to success in 2026 then if we get a name in.

Well I thought you'd finish 9th, there is of course a lot of the season to go so I have no doubt there will be brighter days for you.
Tell you what has been a big loss, Andy Lynch, that guy was captain material and a real leader and still got it. That was the biggest loss.
I wouldn't think Gentle as head would see you in a vastly better position.

Bring him over then no worries from me. But he wont come and coach a pub team - I was simply challenging the theory about diverting all the money to a coach.

But there would be, just as much as the other top 8 teams as they all spend to the cap. I am advocating using the fact the cap doesn't count for coaching staff to make the difference.

| Lee Radford might be skating on thin ice, but I seriously doubt he'll be falling through an-time soon!

I could understand if we were losing but well coached with progression from game to game. I just can't see were the team is heading and so struggle to see what sticking by Radford achieves. It's not like the players are buying in to what he wants and why would that change over the next six weeks or six months.
