He would have asked for a release so he could take up the contract with us, so he won't have been paid, other than the contract with Hull for two years.

| Ok then. Can anybody explain why the O'Meley deal was 'announced' in the fashion it was?
For all his perceived decline over the past couple of years, we are still talking about a relatively big-name, 15-cap, Kangaroo prop...yet the club announce it with apparent reluctance, on a weekend, and with a notable 'subject to medical' advisory!
No press-confenece...no orchestrated media briefing...and 'announced' second-hand (after the Sydney papers) on a day when the club was already guaranteed maximum media exposure anyway (playing it's second biggest home fixture of the season)!
I know the club leaves a lot to be desired in terms of media-management, but even I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this - they obviously weren't ready to announce this signing!
Under normal circumstances, the club would have kept O'Meley's signature up their sleeve and trumpeted it much more loudly when the timing was right (i.e in the build-up to next year's season pass launch) - after all what is the sense in announcing four new signings so close together in mid-season??
From what I am hearing, the signing was made prior to knowledge of O'Meley requiring surgery and his people in conjunction with the Roosters (who are desperate to remove him from their salary cap) have smartly jumped the gun in making it common knowledge before Hull FC have had the chance to re-assess (or possibly back out) of any deal.
The upshot of it all is that Hull FC have had no option but to hastily confirm the signing but, to cover their own backs, they have taken the highly-unusual step of publicising the 'subject to medical' part.
For once, I don't think the club are to blame on this, but have the Roosters pulled the wool over Hull FC's eyes about O'Meley's surgery?

We haven't had a press conference for any of our new signings. Fitzgibbon was another one that came on the clubs website after people had posted it on here.

He's having a minor procedure on his knee. Thankfully that will mean he isn't in danger of getting a serious injury in the remaining games

Look - you blew your 'cover' some time ago. We all know that you're a Rovers troll, and not a particularly good one. Give it up.

You know nowt. This is a full on major op. A full knee reconstruction, in fact it is the 3rd one of his career. I know this because I heard several rovers fans discussing this whilst watching my son rugby training tonight.
Jeez, I have never had much room for rovers fans, but it seems that I have been a little niave with my assessment of them, I can't believe that they are even thicker than I thought.
