| I have said it before and I will say it again, Tommy Lee STILL has the potential to make a very good super league player. He was thrust into the first team a little too early, through one reason or another. He had to endure some tough periods when he didn’t live up to people’s expectations and the club had to stick with him in the first team simply because they didn’t have anyone else to turn to. This didn’t do him or the club any favors, and I think knocked his development back a year or two.
Add into the mix that he has played under 3 different head coaches and that the club has bulked him up too much, something they do far too often imo, and it is not surprising that we have not seen too much of what people were expecting from Tommy Lee.
That been said, I think the kid deserves some credit for the way he has played this season, he has been pretty consistent and put some of the demons from the past two seasons to bed imo.
I hope that with the signing of Sean Long, the club sees this as a great opportunity to mould Lee back into the scrum half he should have always been. They need to let him run off some of the bulk they have stupidly put on him and use Long’s presence and experience to get Lee back to his natural game. You never know something really crazy could happen and we could have a young British scrum half chomping at the bit and ready to be our on field general for the next 5 years when Long’s stint at Hull is over.

Did he play scrum half when we beat Drovers 44-18? seem to think he had a good game that day!
