| Quote: Yippee try yay "How Lewis and Burgess didn't see a card during the game is baffling, a blatant tip tackle and a forearm direct to the head have been yellow and red all season but the officials choose not to see it when it's the GF. We've had players carded for far less this season.'"
The whole game was refereed differently. I think there was only 1, possibly 2 set restarts all game. Not a single penalty for offside (defensive line) given all game. Maybe only 1 or 2 penalty's for holding down all game.
It makes for better viewing as the game flows more, but pretty much every rule just seemed to go out the window last night

| Quote: Marcus's Bicycle "Wigan are a great team, one of the best of the SL era but fair play to Rovers (hate saying that) they gave everything but came up short. Most teams would have buckled and have been well beaten but they fought to the end.
Having said that....Rovers just don't do finals.'"
I attended a Cup Final when they became the first Hull team to win at Wembley after 3 previous attempts by Hull clubs. They certainly did that one.
Agree with your comments about the the Robins performance against Wigan.

It was a miles better watch but going off previous games it's frustrating as a fan who's seen his team hammered for every possible little thing this season, had it been a regular league game with say Sao committing the above foul play there would have been video ref stoppages and cards galore but all of a sudden everything changes because its a grand final.
If every game was allowed to flow like last night we'd all have a much better product to watch.

The last one wasn't that well attended I seem to recall.'"
Any further update on the Civic Reception?
I’ve heard there’s currently a ‘sell out’ crowd of 5 Rovers fans stood outside the City Hall, patiently waiting for their trophy-less heroes.

Rovers had connexion arena in town booked for tonight if they had won…this has now been cancelled as their 40 yr wait continues…..my daughter just told me as she works with someone who does special events there and he was sworn to secrecy but he told her today at work

| Jesus….some deluded inbreds on look north….you won same as us….zilch and as for peters saying we are improving as Wigan by them by 30 in semi last season and now it’s 7 is daft…Wigan didn’t get out of 2nd and peer used his bench brilliantly….rovers props was on and off yet Haverd and Thompson went for massive minutes

I wonder if there's any free food going spare. Would be a shame to waste it.

Anyone remember forward Geoff Gunney who played for Hunslet and became a club legend.
Started aged 17 at the Parkside club in the early 50's and played for them for 22 years. Also played for GB and Yorkshire's team? Nick name became 'Mr Hunslet'
Saw him play at the Boulevard during my time in Hull in the 50's and 60's and enjoyed watching him play.
