Gale hasn't a previous good record. He had bans for punching and dissent whilst at Leeds and I'm pretty sure he's got previous from his cas days too.

We have lots of previous with Liam Moore, think back to last seasons Derby at our ground all those disallowed trys. I watched him ask the touch judge hicks if swifts was a try, hicks replied yes, Moore instantly said no try and sent it upstairs.

It's season after season after season, we get absolutely crucified for any infringement or sometimes none at all. Certain teams walk away Scott free.

I think its overly harsh and I have my doubts as to whether we'll see a consistent application of the rules over the season but it is what it is. Just have to accept we are without Gale for a good chunk of the season and move on.

2 matches for the shin contact and warned about future conduct for the second charge. They're killing the game, not just us but some of the other suspensions dished out, way way over the top with no consistency.

I thought the lifting of the player was much worse than the shin contact, can you imagine if he it was only a slight contact and Lomax falls akward resulting in damaged knee ligaments and the shin contact in that circumstance is very trivial.
Gale picks up Lomax off the floor and makes the knee worse (season ending) instead of the team medic assessing the injury. Gale should have let it be, he is neither a ref or a medic.

Imagine if none of that happened though & he was just picking up a player he knew was play acting for the penalty.

Who is he to decide who is play acting? What if Ben Flower decided Lance Hohaia was play acting after the first punch? What if Lomax's injury was from tweaking his hamstring from the kick rather than any contact? The only reason Gale did what he did is because he knew there was contact - players can get injured without a single finger being laid on them (especially in cold conditions like Saturday).

Any defence of a player having any interaction on the floor is nonsense. We cant scream player welfare and then say "oh but it might be okay if the player wasnt injured" - go to the ref and say theres nothing wrong with him - get your own teams doctor on and involved to prove theres nothing wrong, don't get involved yourself.

Let's hope we learn and stop doing stupid things. If Gale hadn't gone charging in with his studs none of this would have happened.

We have to start using our brains, the scrum penalty was another example, the reason we got penalized is that the players didn't know we had a scrum, how didn't they know we had a scrum???? Meant they has to rush and didn't have time to pack down. Reynolds playing the ball sidewards too.
