Can we change the thread name to 'massive overreaction' please? I never expected much from this season. We had 10 players out last night and under the circumstances did well not to get a 50 point hiding, which no doubt would have happened last year. Remain positive!

Extremely poor game of RL.

Nearly 40 errors in the game which either resulted in a handover or pen.

We was guilty of 25 of them.

Turner and Horne guilty of 5 and 3 errors alternatively.

No attacking threat no kicking game no ideas.

What depressed me was we had Aspinwall, Watts, Westerman, McGoldrick in the same team.

I put up with the years of e under Agar because he was out of his depths, Gentle isn't he assisted one of the best coaches in the game in Tim Sheen's and was the Aussie assistant coach but we look a slow poor side.

Yes we have injuries but we always do, same different year

And to finish if Briscoe thinks he can play in the NRL he's having a laugh.

Anyway I'm off to slit my wrists.

But hey there is always next season.

Quote: Jake the Peg "I'm saying that we should have better structure and organisation no matter who is playing. Being disorganised on last tackle plays when you have your 1st choice half backs on the field is knack all to do with the injuries. Having no one backing up or making dummy runs is not because we have injuries'"

I'd pretty much agree with that. I would also say though that mostly it was much better earlier in the season, so something must have happened for an apparent laziness to kick in with several players. I suspect it comes back to some being told they're on their way and a lack of unity in the team, which will hopefully return next year with a squad who are wanted and want to be here, regardless of if they are world beaters or not.

Plus you are one of the worst trolls on the KR board and have often posted links on their board when there club have claimed top 4 finishes etc, your a hypocrite!

Quote: Bet Lynch "Please elaborate with a few examples as I have not got a clue what you are talking about there.

I personally do not have expectations when you have been going as long as me you tend not to, in fact my pre-season predictions have been the same for the last 4/5 yrs top 4! more tongue in cheek than reality or more the fact I favour being optimistic rather than pessimistic.
Fans do have expectations and there is a link on this thread from only weeks ago claiming top 4, the fact that fans expectations of a decent finish or a decent run in are reflected in the gates and unless we make some very decent signings will be reflected next year also.
Personally I think AP is great for the club, however I hope he is getting the right advice re signings as so far barring G.Ellis they are very underwhelming and will not be a team who can compete for top 4 or a team who will bring back the fans, in fact I suspect it will lose some more imho.'"

I'm not going to trawl through your posting history for examples, I really don't care enough. You do have a habit of reading HDM and club website articles/statements and interpreting them with your own spin to go off about them, though. One I can remember recently was when you were adamant that McRae was contradicting himself for saying it was proving hard to find players because he'd also said agents were knocking down the door.

As for expectations, the club have to be positive about things and aim high, that doesn't mean they'll meet them. People should use their own common sense and judgment to decide of they think they're possible.

pearson only predicting a top 5 finish with his new and improved squad next year so I doubt that top 4 was any kind of serious target at the club this season

If Bradford was not in the we'd finish 9th.

If Salford beat KR it might still happen.

This discussion had nothing whatsover to do with my own interpretations on what is written in the media, the fact is statements were coming out of the club claiming top 4 finish only weeks ago and my point is this would raise the expectations of a lot of fans who read the articles. I am still adamant that McRae contradicts himself just because you disagreed and had a different interpretation to me which I respect did not make me change my mind icon_biggrin.gif

We were poor last night, especially in attack it was shocking. Defence improved but first two tries were poor. Ref was appalling and cost us the second try.

That was as bad as the playoff loss last year. Have we improved....

could have been a very different game if Ablett had been sent for ten as he should have been, of course we've improved, amazes me, people were saying "give Agar time, it's not his squad" and yet the very same people are questioning wether we've improved under Gentle when it's clear to see we have.

any CONFIRMATION of the Salford k/o yet?

We lost by 32 points in that game. Not convinced last night was as poor as that.
