| My point was its all the spin we are getting, by spin I mean lies about he wanted first team rugby. It was down to money and its tight for next season, very tight due to a couple of players being on mega deals.
I would love to know how much Longy was/is on at Saints now

| Quote clubfoot fc="clubfoot fc"how much would you spend on a 3rd choice (possibly 4th choice if lee stays) hooker with hardly any experience? bearing in mind there is a salary cap?'"
i dont know but if you carnt offer somone a living wage whats the point in developing players at all just for another club ,if berro isnt fit next year or has further shoulder problems we might need the lad ,i think its fair to say lees going ,this has been common knowlage for some time ,this will leave
houghton ,i just can not see the logic of developing a player since he was 12 and then offering such a poor deal the lad goes to your bitter rivals ,you might as well have said where releasing you and saved the embarresment ,its typical of the current managment of the club ,and i dont enjoy having a go tbh

Are you saying that he didn't want first team rugby?
Are you also suggesting that those people who have posted independently on here that he did were all part of some Machivellian FC plot?
Should we have turned down the deals with Long etc. in order to sign up the likes of Hodgson? How would that have gone down with the fans?

| Quote Kosh="Kosh"Let's see how Hodgson develops in a position where we have plenty of cover before screaming too much, eh? You can't keep every promising youngster who comes along, no matter if their dad did play for the club in years gone by.
That's assuming that there's any truth in these rumours of course. Other people who know the reserves well seem to think that the decision wasn't money related for the most part.
Oh - and as duff as I think Agar is, our squad this season was only ever borderline playoff material even with luck and a following wind.'"
This was about money Kosh I knew it was I just needed to chack it out and I have.
The kid is already Englands academy hooker, he has been at FC since he was twelve and the club made a poor offer. Local players get poor money whilst others like projects get £40K+

How many more times...
YOU CAN'T KEEP EVERY YOUNGSTER.
There's a Salary Cap and this is actually one of the things it was designed to promote.

TBH I take this claim with a pinch of salt like I do every other one on here. Although even if true I don't see what the drama is all about.
And you've just said that we couldn't afford to offer him more as the cap is just about full for next year. Which will make a nice change from this season.

If you mean Moa then you are wrong Ian, he is not on anywhere near that kind of money.

I rather thought that figure was pure fantasy.

I was thinking of the other project ..................Hutch and I know he was on a lot more then £40 K as well
Moa is on more then Josh Hodgson was on , in fact Josh was offered the same for next year as this.
I am just concerned yet again that the club are leaking/spinning answers that in the fullness of time are proved not to be true.

The club obviously feel that they are well covered in the hooking role so i dont understand why we should sign him just because he has been at the club since he was 12 or because he might go to rovers.
Surely you'd rather have a sucessful team than a team full of home grown players???

TBH Ian the only comment I've seen from the club about Hodgson leaving was Agar's piece in the mail. That didn't read like any kind of 'spin', just his usual ramblings.
And the bit about Hodgson wanting first team football has come from other sources than the club.
