| I'm too old to get that involved anymore!!!
When we were at Wembley, they wanted us to lose no doubt at all, not one I have ever known from that side has wanted us to win and quite frankly from the point of view of a guy who has been a season ticket holder for 64 years and who has no mates that are Rovers fans (because I jettison these guys as soon as they tell me who they support) I think I have just about seen it all. I'm pretty philosophical about it, no I won't be watching and quite frankly I hope the buggers lose.
I mean to say can you honestly imagine any Man City fans wanting United to win the Cup! It's about passion and loyalty and unblinkered bias to the club you love. Rovers fans get that the other way as well, completely, and I guess after the insults, derogatory comments and disrespect that we have received from everyone from their Chairman downwards over the years, It just cements my view that I can't have any allegiance to them at all, be they from Hull or not!! Yes I hope they lose and if they don't I don't really give a tinkers cuss really. From Monday the world goes on and we play Wigan on Friday!

| As a young (at the time) veteran from the Battle of the Boulevard I would suggest some who are no longer with us would be turning in their graves with any airy-fairy sense of bonhommie shown towards our city rivals.
We fought them from Boulevard, the length of Selby Street to Anlaby Road flyover ffs.
Any token sense of civilty was dispelled on that particular Good Friday, never to return again.
Up the Leopards.

Am sure if they win he will be on here as soon as the whistle goes telling all and sundry what a great team he supports and what we as a club should strife to achieve. If they lose well we won't hear from him till we get beat again

Talking about Selby Street, and on a memory tangent, remember walking down there for a night game not long after Kung-Fu Bruce had burnt the Hastie kids out.
Was a Floodlight game from memory.
Was a dark winters night and particularly eerie after what had occurred.

You just dragged me out of my epathy. Mum got hit on the forehead by a half chocker at Gordon Street end. I’m reminded of a tale from 2016, I was at a barbie in September, a guy saw my FC tatto on my leg and said “I went to Wembley and was a Wire fan for the day”, I said “ Ah you’re a Dobbin” he said “ No, I support Rovers”, I said “Do you go to the games”, he replied “ Not now but I used to as a kid” Sums it up to me, very evenly balanced hate, they have a massive chip on each shoulder. Also remember a day in 1985, a certain Wembley date, Cas v Rovers, used to go every year with Charleston Club, there was a single ticket in the row in front of our alIotment, no body wanted it so I said I wasn’t bothered and took it. Turned out it was a row of Rovers fans, also said I wasn’t bothered who won but when Jamie Sande set off down that left hand wing, I was the only one up and shouting “Go on you little beauty” or words that effect in a row of Rovers fans. C’mon you Leythers.

| The main hope is that my first try scorer and Lance Todd bets come in. Then I win.

that would kill their journey home lol

| Yes definitely no sentiment on Good Friday 1981. Over 40 taken to hospital.
Wanting the other to lose in a Cup Final has always been part of the rivalry. Can’t recall any contented Rovers fans in 1982, 2005, 2016 or 2017. Saying that, in 2016 they did have their Fun Day to enjoy, so that probably balances out all our Challenge Cup wins.

The nice thing about having won the semi by GP is that I think I’d be philosophical about it.

I was quite pleased for you/Hull as a city in 2005. The whole Crap Towns thing seemed to have moved from light-hearted self knowledge to external derision, so it was nice to see one of the city’s representatives achieve something positive. But, other than that, I agree.
