My favourite ban is still the Sine Die ban (indefinite), handed to Len Casey after getting sent off for fighting and then shoving the Touch Judge as he left the field v Hull, Good Friday 1984 (?). I think it got reduced to 12 matches on appeal.

Casey was stripped of the GB captaincy for the forthcoming Ashes tour following that. If memory serves that was the game he had a one on one dust up with Fred Ah Kuoi. Fred handled himself impressively in that encounter.

Fred was a very tough man.

It was the Good Friday Derby at the old Craven Park. Rovers (in the Century when they still won trophies) had just won the Title. Hull applauded them on to the field and proceeded to thrash them. Things boiled over on the pitch for the usual Good Friday Biff and Casey got his marching orders and then took exception to the Touch Judge chirping in his ear while he walked off.
During the game Fred Au Khoi also regathered his own kick for a length of the field try.
If you search online, you can usually find the RL Action highlights of this game.

I remember that game, didn't Casey stamp on Neil Puckering, which Fred took exception to and caught a good one on Casey who just lost it, got his marching orders then pushed the touch judge, who really laid it on thick and he was in serious trouble, being the GB skipper at the time. Hull played some great rugby, and Divorty really shone I remember, we ended up comfortable winners and the journey home was sweet.

One of the things Lenny did in that particular game was drop his shorts and showed his to us Hull fans, it made me laugh.
When he played for Hull, I remember the story of how the rovers directors came to the Boulevard with a bag full of money, “ we’ve come for Casey” £6000 if memory is right.

Whilst young Connor did resemble a helicopter, and I get it’s a dangerous tackle, but ten matches is far to harsh in my opinion, different story if it’s a malicious act of thuggery, but it seemed to me young Pryce offence was an act of sheer exuberance, in the moment, he got it wrong and undoubtedly he’ll learn from it. Red card fair enough, a couple of matches possibly.

About right I'd say. It looked bad live but my view was partially obscured by surrounding players. Having watched it on The Super League Show earlier it was horrendous. There's a worse one that can be found on the internet under the heading the worst Rugby League tackle of all time. It looks like an old Winfield Cup game between Balmain and Newtown. Pryce's was careless but that one was deliberate. It was an absolute shocker.

I've just read the same on TRL forum. He can't have any complaints about the severity of the ban especially given that.

| Pryce clearly hasnt learnt his lesson. He committed a similar offence in an academy game last season.

I think that is severe, but also fair. Connor Wynne could have been paralysed by that tackle and his life changed forever, thankfully he was okay but with 16 stone bearing down directly on the neck with force and from height, it was an horrendous tackle, Pryce has had form for similar in his Academy days, so he deserves the ban and can have no complaints.
