It would have been much better if you started with this, rather than your Pearson rant.
and nonsense about Hudds, Warrington, Saints and Wigan who have all appointed NRL assistants in the last couple of years.

| Welcome to Hull, Brett!
Glad we have got the appointment sorted and pleased we are bringing someone in from outside the current set up. Timing is good too as we get into the close season period.
Big thanks to Andy Last for taking up the reigns after Lee had left and giving us something to cheer about over the past couple of months.
As with any Hull Coach, Brett will get my full support.
As someone mentioned, very few Coaches can guarantee success and some Coaches work better at some clubs than at others.
I’m sure Adam has done his research and obviously knows him from his previous stint at Hull. Hopefully Brett will increase our access to the NRL to help fill our quota spaces each season.

| A backs coach who understands and can coach defending according to players that have worked with him, it was extremely unlikely we were going to get anyone top tier but we needed a change of the remnants of the 'old guard'. Coming in with certain players still with contracts that need moving on is always going to make a first season difficult but hopefully a change in how we do some things can move us forward regards performances both in defence and attack, being more consistent, reducing errors, not dropping into bad habits or heads down when under pressure etc.
Who knows what's going to happen but we need to support Brett and hope that they can make the changes to change things not just the first team squad but elsewhere within the club.

Well it seems likely that this has been sorted for a few weeks and I guess that Hodgson has been going over DVD of every game. The one thing about appointing a coach from the NRL is that he'll have knowlege and contacts of players over there.
He'll certainly be no Peter Gentle who basically signed whoever Shaun McRse and David Howes wanted us to.

| Reasonably pleased with this. An outsider with a good pedigree and reputation. He’s obviously very motivated and wants a great start to his coaching career, so let’s hope he does just that. Will have good links for future signings, too.
Laughable at some usual moaners’ comments, and on other social media outlets. Wanted a ‘big named coach’ - like who? Even the best teams in this competition don’t get them. Typical.
Anyway, welcome Brett.

Impressive and articulate first interview IMO. If nothing else he will bring self confidence and energy with a commitment to raising standards across the board as well as strengthening the squad. As you say interesting that he has spent time in France and also with Eddie Jones understanding his winning culture - this appetite to take broad perspectives and learn from others I imagine has been a key factor in his appointment.

Are you coming round a bit more now
Until we see the bloke's team on the field he's an unknown quantity as was Holbrook and Mcguire, he could well end up being a Stone or Furner too.
He seems well respected and studious, I'm excited for the new season for the first time in a while.
