| It's not that the current flock have little flair or skill, but they are up against big humans, and structured defence. Look at the old games and the tries scored, flair players running around fat lumps of forwards, too unfit to get into the defensive line (broad generalisation!)

Yes, good old days, fighting at games, racial hatred, tribal passion sold as “support”, coal strikes, 3 day week, it was SO much better!

| Now now guys don't mock fosdyke99.
I've just swapped back to black and white tv and had an outside toilet installed at the bottom of my garden and everynight I turn my tv off at midnight whilst getting my partner to hum loudly in a monotone voice, ah the good old days.
Feel rather foolish now for renewing my pass, bl00dy professional athletes and summer rugby who needs it?

| Quote: Karen "If I was a business man, I would much rather extend my working day on a Friday to take in the game/do the corporate thing rather than use up a precious weekend day, especially if I wasn't an ardent fan.
Personally I much prefer a Friday night, even living in Cas, because it then frees up the rest of the weekend. As a runner, races tend to be Sundays so it's great knowing I can book onto them without rugby clashes. You also have families who can do things on a weekend because they got the rugby out of the way on Friday evening. Add to all that the lack of worrying about game changes for Sky and short turnarounds, I think Friday is here to stay whether we like it or not.'"
So your singular view speaks for all corporates? People who cycle tend to do their events/rides in the morning on a Sunday or indeed whatever day, your avg serious Sunday cyclist is likely to be a corporate/above avg earner, is your avg runner?
The families that don't attend in as great a number can't often afford both in any case so your point is moot, also a choice between a cold Thurs/Fri in darkness (for much of the season) on a school night and/or following a heavy school/work week rushing to get dinner sorted etc or a game day that can be 10-15C warmer, in the day and far less pressed time wise is far more conducive for families and also is far more likely to encourage away fans to travel in greater numbers.
Not polling the fans and indeed other clubs seems to me to be lacking in doing everything to find out what is best for the majority/increase numbers. Currently even on the back of two great seasons the numbers are barely above the 2012 season which followed the Agar years, so frankly the Friday 'experiment' is simply not working.

Serious question, how do you manage to walk with that giant chip on your shoulder??
I never once suggested that my views were the views of everyone, please show me where I did. I was simply offering a personal view on why I prefer Friday evenings.

Our "standard" game day is now Friday, if people don't like it then they can vote with their feet... You can't please everyone, and in knockers case, it seems he can't be pleased at all!

Seriously Bumpy what is your problem?? No where has Karen suggested even in the slightest her view is even remotely speaking for one and all. Its not difficult to grasp it is entirely her personal view on the matter.
Personally for me I used to prefer the Sunday games but nowadays with demands of family & work life I find Friday nights are much better for me and my family. Yes sometimes its a bit of a rush on a night but find after a hard day at work a Friday night game is the perfect tonic to unwind. Also last time I checked Friday nights weren't school nights?
I don't like Thursday night games however the game is reliant on big money so we as fans have to accept that the same as football fans aren't keen on Monday night games but money talks.
On the Corporate issue it is far more beneficial financially for clubs to have home games on a Friday as it is much easier for companies to have events attended on Friday than over a weekend and I am speaking as someone who has done this with my company. Many of our clients when invited for a Saturday or Sunday fixture were less likely to attend compared to a Friday night as their weekends were taken up with other commitments etc.
The revenue & business the Corporate's bring in is essential to the future of the club and whether we like it or not outweighs the loss of some of the the attendance which has shown to negligible when looked at in comparison previously IIRC.
As someone who enjoyed Sunday games a few years back if I had the chance to vote I would now vote for Friday night every time as 'FOR ME' I actually prefer it once I got the traditional argument out my head and actually realised once I tried it that it was more beneficial to me both personally, as a family and as a business.
Also with regards to away fans it wouldn't make much difference at all what day of the week or time it was on as the sad fact is that the opposition fans very rarely travel past Leeds as ours and Rovers attendances of visiting fans show. Even if free tickets were made available it would make little difference, the question is why? Both the Hull clubs fans manage to travel in big numbers but sadly other teams simply don't.

What are you on about, what chip YOU came out with "If I was a business man etc" that imlies that your way of thinking is representative, otherwise why come out and say it? You then went on to say that runners like to run on a Sunday as reasons why Sundays are not good, I simply countered that, you know like an open forum is intended to be, a place for discussion.

I don't have a problem, I countered what Karen said with why i think Fridays are not as good for the club, this IS an open forum, though at times most would rather not see it that way. You can't say anything without being attacked like you have by saying "what is your problem" and accused of having a chip on my shoulder by karen for simply discussing matters!
What is YOUR problem would be more precise given how you've just put forward an argument for Fridays yet you have a problem with me putting forward mine?
Yet more typical reaction from those that don't like someone with a viewpoint alternate to theirs!

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| I know I'm not a Hull fan but I don't think your attendances will be all that different whether you played Friday night or Sunday as there are people who have a preference for either with us been in the championship last season we played Sunday every week which meant every weekend was taken up whereas Friday games now and then frees up the weekend I personally think the atmosphere can be better for night games

Of course its everyone else that has a problem but you.
I asked what your problem was as you had clearly taken Karens personal view as though it was a sweeping statement for all Corporates even though it is clear from Karens post it is her personal view with not even the slightest hint of anything more. That reason alone was why I asked what your problem is!!
Me asking what your problem is has nothing what so ever to do with your viewpoint which you are entitled to the same as Karen and everyone else. I offered my viewpoint on Friday games nothing more. Please show me where I have said I have an issue your viewpoint for Friday nights!!
As for your comment 'Yet more typical reaction from those that don't like someone with a viewpoint alternate to theirs!' that's hilarious quite frankly coming from you as I would say without doubt that is your 'MO'.

| you're making a mountain out of a molehill, Karen clearly said if she was a business man, then started to say why in her eyes as a businessman/corporate Fridays would be better. I accept her viewpoint but how can it be reflective of all hence why I brought it up.
Yet the way it's worded is if that IS how all think, also the running aspect.
Again, you're making a bigger deal out of this because you don't agree with my viewpoint, others have said they'd prefer Sundays, lots in fact. I simply put across why I think Sundays are better for families and that Karen's singular viewpoint does not represent everyone from the corporate side.
You come wading in saying I have a problem, Karen wading in saying I have a chip on my shoulder when all I've done is politely countered what has being said using reasoning and examples.

But, as You’ve just proven (again), you do have a problem and you do have a chip on your shoulder, I wish you could find something to make you happy!

Its got nothing to do with your viewpoint at all so don't assume that to be the case. You have taken what Karen has posted as though she was speaking for the masses which its clear she wasn't hence 'If I was a businessman etc' then followed that with a clear personal view. Its not that difficult to grasp.
I haven't come wading it all I simply asked what your problem is to have come up with your assumption on Karens post being that of a spokesperson for the corporates!
As I have already put in a previous reply to you I have no problem with your viewpoint whatsoever.

By saying 'I' means that I was giving MY personal opinion on the situation and what I would prefer if I was in business and expected to attend corporate events, and it's amazing that only you read it differently. Chris71 has even given a personal example from experience confirming what I said, yet didn't suggest that I was implying anything. Same with the running comment, I said that I like to run and that I love Fridays because it means I can book races without worrying about fixture clashes. Pray tell me where that implies that I was talking about ALL runners.
