Care to explain why or is that the best I get?

I doubt Washbrooks go forward was all that much last season (when coming on to play in the back row) yet there would have been an outcry if he had been dropped.
I dont really understand why Thompson is getting the criticism he gets.'"
It's not just based on stats though, I have seen every game this year and he just isn't having the same impact he was in 2015, he use to break the line regularly and even score the odd try with his good footwork. Maybe he is being played in the wrong position as feel he is too lightweight for the middles.
Agree on stats, they can be misleading, but his are hard to be ignored, least average gain of any Hull player including Sneyd, maximum meters gained in any one game is 67 and only made an average gain of over 6 metres once.
I honestly think we have better reserve players.
Anyway not playing this week so either dropped or rested.

Is it? Unless it is a standard or pre-arranged fee that they can trigger without our agreement, it is no different to the possibility of us selling any other contracted player.

Rovers parted company with 30+ players before the end of their contracted period when they were in Super League. That's form, surely?

I'm happy to assume that is true. Not especially relevant to the point at hand though.
If anything it seems a bit low. How many contracted players left Hull before their deal was up during the same period? Jamie Ellis for one of course. I can think of a lot without even trying very hard. Pritchard and Lancaster just recently. The likes of Westerman and Lineham who were sold. Loads of Gentle's signings - Arundel et al. That little prop you got from Wigan who went to Widnes - o'carroll, was it? Stuart Reardon, Martin Gleeson. Andy Lynch. Was Ben Crooks ooc? What about Jason Crookes? Retirees like Tuson and Burnett. Hutch Maiva.

Well of course. But I thought we were discussing Jamie Ellis' loan deal with Hull KR and their ample form for early exit of player contracts. Maybe the number is low, don't forget it excludes another 30 odd null and voids on 1 October 2016.

No, we were, as far as I could tell, either talking about a clause that I was previously unaware of in loan contracts generally (or maybe relating specifically to Ellis's loan to Rovers), or the apparently 'interesting' news that any contract can be bought out with the agreement of all parties.
The other stuff is just you trying to change the subject and win the argument by defining its context.

Why so snappy? You had a good win over Swinton the other day.

| Quote: Wilde 3 "I agree with Thompson, I wouldn't renew his contract. Doesn't do enough for me. Getting his nose through the line with a change of speed once every three or four games doesn't cut it with me'"
As i pointed out earlier in the season, made more tackles (by over a 100) than our marquee signing and that was with limited time on the filed, often not coming on until in the second half.
The problem is Radford doesn't want speedy/agile forwards, he can't adopt a game plan for that and thus Thompson, Pritchard are/were wasted, indeed Abdull won't fit into Radford's crash, bang, wallop type of play and we'll go for another overpaid plodder instead of utlising the talents of JA.
if either of our halves get injured we don't have a recognised half to replace them, we got rid of our academy halves Reece Dean/HTW remember then CT can do a job, maybe even Connor at a push but given how Griffin has being a dissapointment pushing CT or Connor into a HB role to cover for injury isn't ideal.
if JA rejoins us for next season in a starting 13 role I'd be surprised, as for Ellis, I think he's done, IF we were to play him it would have to be on a hugely reduced contract because of the risk I feel he poses injury wise, coaching/support role I'd have him in a heartbeat.
if somehow we could retain him to play a handful of games next year on a limited playing contract but mostly in a support/back room role then that would give us the best of both worlds.
ATEOTD only a select few will have an inkling as to what will actually happen.

It's part of our ritualised bickering. Like your passive-aggressive rhetorical questions.
Good night Black and White buddies.

Out of interest, who do we have currently that you'd class as an overpaid plodder?

| Had his best game in red & white today, showed maturity when managing the game out in the final quarter. Excellent kicking game including a 40/20.
Now you have Kelly (spit) signed up for 2018 can we keep him please?

| He was nothing short of excellent today, he proved he's a super league player with that performance, only young an plenty to come from him. As I've said on our forum, I'm a big fan of his, even if he is on FCs books. He's certainly enjoying himself, and he's unbelievably trim these days, will be interesting to see who he ends up playing for come the start of next season, contracts aside.
