We've got to start planning for him to move into coaching and who is replacing his leadership role. It's no coincidence that being without him, Houghton and Kelly caused us problems, I don't have the answer, hopefully Lee and his other coaches do.

As Danny Houghton said, players feel ten times bigger when he's on the pitch with them.

Can Ellis coach or commentate ?

I think he could do both.

Talks a bit slow for commentary I reckon but he seems to have the right attitude for coaching. Certainly a vocal leader.

Is he getting any qualifications, some players do as they see their playing days coming to an end. Maybe he feels he has another season in him?

i think sometimes you have to accept that there are going to be certain player who are simply irreplaceable. Ellis is one, peacock and sinfield fall into this bracket too, maybe cunningham and wellens at saints were too in recent times. there are not too many of this type still playing the game. if we were to attempt to replace him, for a couple of seasons i would think simon mannering would be an option if he became available - would fit the bill
