they've included every english based player who was involved in the last test series, hence the inclusion of all the injured ones (ward, briscoe etc.) plus about 6 new faces. possibly at this early stage they don't want to leave out anyone who played their part in a successful test series (continuity and all that).

Roby isn't out of form, Saints are out of form, Roby runs his blood to water and in an England side he'll still be the best hooker in the squad.
Houghton is just unfortunate that he's playing at a time when there are simply better options than him.

Houghton has outplayed Roby several times this season. It depends whether the Aussie picks on form or reputation.

Every coach of the England/GB team in recent years has picked players on reputation rather than form and each of them has failed. Time to pick players who are playing well IMO. The inclusion of players like ward, amor and walmsley are laughable

Roby will be in a better squad, like i said Saints are out of form not Roby.

Roby is easily the best hooker in an England shirt and i include Hodgson in that.

Those 2 will be the main guys, Daz Clarke will also struggle and he's been easily one of Wire's top 3 performers this season.

Calm down dear.....it was a coffee morning for the current squad. Bennett hasn't snubbed anyone. He hasn't picked anyone yet. Typical pack melt down. Makes us look like bloody sheep. He won't snub Danny come the day. Hodgson will be one and Danny will be there as well. Bennett won't rely on reputation. Look what he did to Thaiday when he went back to Broncos. I'd be astounded if Houghton gets picked in the squad let alone makes the 17.

The problem which Houghton has got in my opinion is that he is seen as a starting hooker not the type of hooker you can bring off the bench to inject some pace into the game.
