| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "I'd definitely go for Abdul at 6 if he's fit. Moving Carlos weakens the back line too much imo. If Abdul doesn't work then we can look at Carlos there when Fonua comes back (must only be a couple of weeks away now), but I see no reason why Abdul won't flourish there. Imo he is a better 6 than a 13.
As for the game itself. It might be a bit early to be calling this a must win game, but if we want a top 4 spot it probably is. Widnes have obviously been playing well, but I'm not entirely sold on them yet. Two wins against the weakest teams in the league, a loss to a Salford side we dispatched of easily, and whilst any wins against Leeds and Hudds are good wins, those clubs are pretty much in disarray atm. I'd like to think that with their fixtures we would also be 4/5, if not unbeaten, whereas with our fixtures they might not have got off the mark yet. I don't think it's unreasonable to say we will be the best side they've played so far. I expect a tough test, but I also expect a win. If we do enough to win and end up with a narrow loss yet again you will have to really start to question our mentality.
I'll go Hull by 8.'"
Exactly my thoughts. If I could of had any teams opening fixtures the way they've panned out its widnes ' s without doubt

What Widnes do well is move the ball fast to their wings. We seem to struggle with teams who use the cut out pass to move the ball wide.
Mellor is also a problem breaking down the middle with his pace.
Abdul is a big lad and i would like to see him attack the line a lot more.He is big enough to take a few tackles.
Radford should have him in training to kick 40/20s.We must be the only team in the league that never kicks a 40/20

You would have our Gareth Ellis at Centre??? On the one pitch in the league that can completely benefit people with good footwork and pace?

| I wouldn't have Ellis at , but I would have him defending on the right when he is on the pitch.

| I know this is going to seem incredibly pessimistic and miserable but in terms of score I am actually gonna go them by 5... :-/

| Widnes have done well to be top of the league, but realistically who have they beaten so far.
Wakefield - who are everyone's favourite to finish bottom.
Rovers - who have only managed 1 point so far and were beaten at home by Wakefield.
Leeds - who have had a disastrous start to the season and have lots of players out injured.
Giants - see Leeds.
They lost to Salford who we comprehensively beat.
Despite their league position I don't think we should be fearing them. An FC victory for me.

| I think Logan needs dropping, he's been seriously dissapointing both in attack and defence and his work rate is just not good enough.
Then Micheals to right centre who adds defensively there and Naughton to right wing, keep Carlos at left centre and bring in JA if fit if not then go with Reece Dean at 6.
Forwards as you were but they (forwards) needs reminding to keep their discipline as it's costing us. Trusting in Micheals and Shaul to deal with high kicks without interference to the opposaition needs mentioning too, think we've given away 3 penalties due to obstruction on kicks.
ATEOTD I think we will do them by 10.

| Hopefully a good close game and I do not expect to beat your team. We are playing well and I always say a long season and games can still go either way. Hope you bring a few to Widnes and may the best team win.

Im dissapointed in Logan too. Only seen glimpses of what he might be able to do and his defense is poor and no better than Crooks when he was here. Not sure id drop him though as hes young enough to hopefully improve. Saying that isnt his side Pryces too whose knackered? Instead id try and protect him a bit more and like Dave said put Ellis out there to help out

I have said it several times on here Seb the fact that Pryce is defending with Logan and they both jump the line too often and also miss tackles is costing us tries on the right and Michaels is getting unfair flack for trying to cover inside.
When Fonua is fit i can see Radford playing him now at centre to give Logan a break.
If he sees fit before then put Michaels in the centre as he is a good defender and play Naughton on the wing.

I would keep him in with Yeaman being unavailable but the jury is out. I would not be swapping players all over i.e. Michaels/Talanoa to centre would be daft IMO. Young though and clearly committed.

| Guys like Logan are still a little undercooked for me. Although I get people aren't writing him off, rather just concerned but it's early days.
According to the whale it looks like Abdul will play 6 which is a good shout for me. Last year he looked great but should he play, it's his first (SL) start so I'm not expecting big things
What worries me is that having seen the highlights from the Widnes match, they look bloody quick, forwards and sideways and Mellor looks good for them. Although I didn't see the full game I expect they will use the same playbook that Cas used against us. That concerns me. Having said that, if the effort is there from our boys then I won't complain if we lose. Maybe just kick the dog instead!

| I can't believe watt's position in the squad hasn't come under much scrutiny, some terrible plays at the end of the last 2 games. He is obviously not the greatest decision maker when fatigued. So, at the very least, he shouldn't be on the pitch in those final ten minutes when he is tired.
