THIS
I hope it is only going to be a loan and not made a permanent move, as others have said his value for his knowledge of the game and how to play it is exemplary both on and off the field.
Having him involved at our club for me is invaluable.'"
Chris 71 - spot on! Richard has one of the best game awareness brains in the league. A terrific pair of hands and has never shirked his workload no matter which position he has been called upon to fill. With these attributes and discipline on and off the field I think it is paramount we find some way to keep Richard on after he has finally hung his boots up so as to instill all this and more into our next generation of young players. Club men like him don't come along very often.

| Agree with a lot of the comments on here. I think his value to the younger kids is important so I hope he'll be back. When we have our inevitable injury crisis we'll need him too, so keeping him match fit is essential.
Hopefully this is a win for Rich and a win for FC

And Leigh.
You've got a quality player. FC legend, you can see from the comments on here how much he is loved. Good move though, we might need him and will keep him fit. We want him coaching for sure later on.

| Feel a bit sorry for Rich on this one. This lads has been committed to Hull FC from day 1. Thats why he so appreciated and loved by so many. He never wanted to sign for Leigh permanently so is heart was never in a move there. But fitness levels need to be right so he can fit back in when needed, so it certainly makes sense
This loan move has raised the question of his future with Hull FC and I agree with all those who have raised his obvious potential in a coaching capacity at some level. We'd be foolish to lose this smart Rugby brain.
Have a good winning 2 months Rich......and come back ready.

| For those who are interested Whiting had a very solid debut for Leigh today against London Broncos
We were on the back foot for nearly all of the match due to a horrific penalty count and a generally sloppy peformance and were 6 - 20 down with just 18 minutes to go. At that stage Whiting had been solid but not really involved, similar to a lot of our other players.
But, cometh the hour, cometh the man. When we hit our straps we had a 5 minute spell when we cut loose and scored 18 points in just 5 minutes and Whiting was at the heart of it. A few nice carries, a few nice passes and then held his composure really well on the winning try. He was clear through with no support but he held on and when support came he found Micky Higham to set up a winning try.
Summary: Whiting is indeed Superman and was the main contributor to the winning try for Leigh.
Cheers Hull
Edit: He played at centre, not ideal but we have a massive injury crisis in that position and he filled in very well.

Edit
Oh, he's good at centre. Only another 8 positions in which for him to do an equally good for you. If needed. Superman has done them all. A few times, in fact

| Whiting had another top performance today in a tough away win at Dewsbury. We are still struggling for centres and Rich has nailed down a spot in that position since he joined.
Leigh fans are keen for us to try and either extend his loan deal or sign him up permanently. Ultimate professional and just looks so comfortable in everything he does. Been a great asset for us since joining.
Scored his 1st try for the club today too. A 90 yard team effort direct from receiving a kick off, Whiting finished it off from about 40 yards out.
