The womens football world cup semi-final involving England got more viewers on the BBC than the RLWC semi-final involving England (and the womens football game was on a Tuesday afternoon, not a Saturday game like the RLWC semi-final). The BBC don't care that much about the size of the crowds, mainly about the size of the viewing figures.

If your facts are correct (and I have no reason to cast doubt on them) that is a troubling statistic for our game.

2.4M PEAk with an average of 1.7M for the womens SF, on a sweltering night were many, including myself couldn't sleep it was that hot.
That was the only reason I was up watching (parts of) it tbh.
RLWC semi final had a peak of 2.3M, the Australian opener peaked at 2.4M
Given the amount of hyberbole attributed to the tournament leading up to it for over a month and that it was getting coverage everywhere during not only on prime time TV but all media avenues the 'frenzy' of interest at the national team getting to the SF in a sport that is the national game just managed to sneak the same viewing figures for a sport given next to zero coverage and is as oft mentioned played in a narrow geographic region no-one cares about.
Yay, well done to the women's soccer.

What I used to like most about your arguments is the way you shifted the goalposts about. Like what you've done here, you start off with a comment about 'shambolic coaching' just after a win away at the Champions, St Helens (where we were down at halftime & barely had a bench second half). 1865 calls it correctly as a load of nonsense. You then manipulate that to make out like 1865 see's our season as successful, despite stating nothing of the sort.
