Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|

| Judging by radford's comments last week about using the squad, he'll hopefully "rest" a few next week against leeds. I'd leave out pryce, sa, ellis, mini and one of watts or paea (assuming they all come through today). A loss in the league at leeds we can take a hit on and will leave our key players fresh for the cup game

Not for me.
If we can muster a win today we have an 8 day turnaround to the Leeds SL game.
We put a full strength team out (Cas just proved its far from impossible to win there) and the winning momentum and mentalty keeps a rollin.
They've got to come to us in the Cup!

leeds will rest a few for the league game I expect. They're nailed on for a top 4 play off place anyway and will be targetting the cup. It's only a 5 day turnaround for the cup game plus leeds have 2 extra days rest this week without factoring in the travel for us. I expect radford will rest some next week but depends how we come through what will be a physical game today. No doubt pryce will get the sheet knocked out of him again like he did at the KC

Not for me - Leeds are definitely beatable at the minute, they've only won 2 of their last 7 league games. Their league position is based on their early season form. Watching them the other night, their "old guard" was starting to look tired I felt and they goal-line defence was poor. They can still score some good tries, but they won't be GF contenders this year IMO.

They have a stack of injured players who will no doubt be back for teh cup game
moon
briscoe
hardaker
delaney
aichurch
Not sure they'll all be back but 3 or 4 of those would improve leeds significantly. I just think we should target the cup game particularly with 2 quick games against wakey to follow

I'll probably think differently if we come away with nowt today but if we can get a result I wouldnt want us to roll over for them at Headingley.

I just want us to get right at them today.
We know how tough it is there but I'm pessimistically confident if that's allowed.

I have a feeling we'll win today. les cats game all about steamrollering the oppo and getting a quick ptb which they'll struggle with today unless we have some lily livered "homer" of a ref (NB that is a reference to a ref who favours the home team not one who prefers blokes to ladies before the pc brigade get on their high horses) who penalises us out of the game.
On a slightly similar theme, I thought silverwood dealt well last night with saints' constant offsides. if we'd had a ref who did that when we played them the other week I think we'd have won it
