OLD FAITHFUL PAL OF MINE: |
|
| Quote: Dave K. "
I really can't decide on Shaul or Rankin, both players last two games have been hot and cold, I think I'd go with Shaul as he is our future FB.
Shaul
Micheals
Yeaman
Talanoa
Lineham
Pryce
Sneyd
Paea
Houghton
Watts
Mini
Ellis
Westy
Green
Thompson
Feka
Whiting'"
Rankin has to be in the match day squad for me as he can cover a variety of positions if required. That bench has no creativity or speed whatsoever. If Rankin does not start at full back he can provide that 'something different' from the bench.

I think they'll be as concerned about our pack as we are about theirs.

Id start with Rankin, look more fluent in attack when he plays, ball often stops with shaul when we are 10 out, not got the confidence to throw that next pass. Rankin does make errors, but so does Shaul. Rankin gets the nod for me

| Both FB's have there plus points, Shaul is quiker, safer and more likely to make a try out of nothing, while Rankin is better at link up play.
Both their defences are about on par IMO.
Rankin does make a lot more offers though (although he has more carries than Shaul, due to playing in the halfs).
A real tough decison, but for me they are about as good as each other, but Shaul should be our long term FB and it looks like Rankin won't be here next year, so for that reason I would play Shaul. Westy should be used as the 3rd pivot.
I also don't like having a back on the bench, as it often ends up being a waste of a bench spot, if not needed or changes are made for the sake of it.

A Green,Thompson,Feka and Whiting bench would suit us better at Catalan

| Be interesting if Radford drops Lineham, I reckon he will do if Talanoa or Naughton are back.
Personally I would keep him in the side.

Me too.
In form, fit, scoring for fun. Why drop him?
