I'd actually rather have someone learning their trade then someone who lost his way Coaching some 20 years ago.
The game (and our club) has moved on. It speaks volumes that Wakefield is the only club to call him.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.; [/color:1g6itio7][/b:1g6itio7]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_663.jpg |

| Smithy was really good for us but that was back then. He's flattered to deceive in the NRL and has had his last drink in nowhere saloon over there. Its sad really but thats just the way it is.
If his peers in Auz believed he had something to offer, especially with his level of experience he'd be doing a job at a lower level out there. But he's not.
He was the one hunting out the gig at Wakefield. He's got nothing to lose.....and the brass will come in handy too.
He'll always get a great reception here though, he gave us some good memories in a short time. Then left us.

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

| What many forget is the financial mess he left us in. it could be argued that it was the Directors who were responsible for the purse strings but Smith wanted full control over all aspects of the playing side (including contracts and negotiating transfers). The aftermath of his departure lead to Entat not being offered a deal / Karl Harrison having to be sold and ultimately Lee Jackson being sold to balance the books.

Some people forget (or refuse to acknowledge) that Smith made the club bankrupt before clearing off back to Aus to look after his own interests. He, along with McRae, is lauded when they should just warrant a shake of the head and a comment of "never again".

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
