| He should step back and appoint someone who knows the game to take care of the club and make important decisions starting with appointing a suitable head coach and assistants

The east hull ambulance chaser would buy us in a shot. Buy some old players let some good players go hire a cheap coach run us into the ground and then merge us with another team who he's pals with........oh

| I find him quite arrogant and patronising to be honest.
Do I want him gone? i don't want him gone, I just want him to stop pratting about really. His off-field appointments have been a bit of a joke & seem rushed; as we know too well the multiple failed signings and payoffs were idiotic; our commerical setup doesn't seem as good as it was; we've had about four training basis.
All this talk of him 'investing' too? He's been paying out for his own mistakes basically.
As someone else said earlier on the thread, he needs to carefully appoint some people who know what they're doing to run the club properly. At the moment we're a laughing stock.

He did this when he first bought the club and appointed McRae. After his fingers were burnt down to the knuckle as a result he stepped up himself - trouble is, there was only Radford left within the club to offer advice.
As Radford had at that time an agenda - to oust and replace Gentle - that advice was inevitably tainted (my opinion based on how I saw events evolve at the time). And so we have the "local boys for local clubs" nonsense, as Radford tried to paint an analogy between himself and the likes of Wane - it's a compelling argument if you're not fully au fait with the sport and it's complexities, and unaware of the diminutive size of the ball pool that represents available talent at this isolated end of the M62. Not many big fish in that small pond two years ago - it'll take years to develop it into the thriving lake Wigan and it's close neighbours collectively have available. The clutch of tiddlers available to us nibbling at the heels of the sleeping giant isn't going to rouse it in the timescales Pearson hoped for.
So Pearson's been badly advised, twice. After the costly first time he's grabbed the reins himself. And appointed Radford with his weaker arguments for success as chief whisperer into the ear. And firmly pinned his badge to this strategy. (It's cheaper and sounds plausible to the newbie.) I agree he needs a mentor. Question is, after McRae, will he have the stomach to trust again?

| I don't think Pearson should go. I would be extremely worried about who would buy us - Allam? And then get rid of us all together. I trust Pearson, I don't necessarily agree with his decisions all the time but I do believe he does what he thinks is best for the club.

Great post!
The only thing is add is that the good work at Wigan was done by McGuire and Wane just carried that work on for a couple of years, the signs this season are that the wheels are starting to come off, they are a team of thugs with no ideas. Still better than us though of course!
Brian Noble is the experienced head this club needs, massive sucess at Bradford, turned Wigan around and set them on a better path, got Crusaders to the playoffs on a shoestring budget, coached England, the only black mark is Salford but since when has anyone had immediate success at a club that buys in a brand new squad? He has a point to prove and comes with the added bonus of being a good spokesperson to the media, something we've lacked since the McRae and Kear days.

I don't want him to go either, but I'd like the old Adam Pearson back, the one who was ruthless in hiring and firing coaches at Hull City and wouldent let anything stand in his way. Making statements like he won't sack Radford no matter what suggests he's lost his ruthless streak, but of course what he says to the media and what he's actually thinking could be different.

| I'd bring noble in until the end of the season and see how he goes. Either in addition to or instead of radford. Whatever, we need to change things and quick. If noble does a good job extend his contract. If things aren't going well then pearson has time to advertise the role and see what comes in.
Other option would be to offer it to paul rowley and scupper on of our main competitors in the super 8's

He'd argue Phil Brown was a success, but in general I'd agree with you. Molby, Parkinson and Dowie were disasters.

That's what is needed from Pearson .
The only difference is at Hull City is wasn't all his own money he was putting in .
The worrying thing is who at the moment would take us on !

I've said before that even scraping 8th and getting 3 more SL home games is worth more than the wage of a decent coach. Even just getting say 2k walk up fans per game at £20 a head is 40k a game. Whereas a Championship super8 game will be passholders and a minibus full of away fans if we're lucky, and the damage to pass sales for next year would be massive.

No it wasn't.
When has any owner or chairman ever come out and said, publicly, that a coach had "x" number of games before the chop'?
If he had cone out and said Radford was put of his depth, which to us the fans is obvious, then Pearson would be accused of causing undue pressure and disruption in the camp.
