| Wigan were gash. Should have won doing cartwheels.
Nothing to dissuade me from the opinion we should have kept Azza.
Nobody will be getting a clean sweep of predictions in round 1.

| Goodish result for top 4 contenders, not so good for the bottom 4.

On tonight's evidence Wigan are nowhere near top 4. They will definitely improve but from 30 minutes in tonight they were dreadful.

I'm of the same opinion. Thought he played well and think he'll be a big miss for us.
For me I don't see where we've used his salary wisely.

Sneyd? Scrum half we've desperately desperately needed
Pryce the experienced big mouth organiser we've needed
Michaels? A genuine pacy experienced threequarter an area that undid us in many games
Azza was one player that we really didn't want to lose but a near 6 figure salary for a interchange player when we had other needs forced the issue. We'll miss him though. I'll miss him. Great player

| Brian Carney " In a word John sum up for the listeners the impact of Todd Carney signing for Catalans"
John Wells " in a word Brian............. Absolutely massive"
James Child's is Ganson re incarnate. His decisions were constantly correct but he was so bias in favour of Wigan.
As for us well we definitely have not replaced Heramia with something better.
The off half for Wigan looks like he might have a future in the game. I take it he's one of their juniors.
Widnes will improve and do well I think.
Can't wait for Sunday then it really begins.......COYH

Sneyd for Miller
Pryce for Horne
Michaels ?
So although different possibly better players I again can't see how Azza's salary has been better invested in the squad as such, unless we are paying considerably more for the players signed as the players who have left salaries would have been there or there about with the players we've brought in.
Cunningham is no where near good enough as yet and for me signing Howarth a complete waste of time and money. I think for consistency and better team balance keeping Azza made more sense instead of 2 inferior back up bookers we could have kept 1 good one.

| Isn't it a bit early to be hand-wringing about whether we should have released Heremaia?
One bloody game.

Agreed. Heremaia did have some good games in an Hull shirt but for every good one thered be four average ones. Do people not want the club to progress as it cant if we keep re-signing the same players. Remember Heremaias intention was to retire also but changed his mind when Widnes offered him a last pay day

I think you have answered your own question there, Sneyd and Pryce are the players we have invested in, plus Mini. Seems good investment to be, when we have signed two good halfs, when we have played the last 7/8 years without one.
I still can't see how we can say Cunningham isn't good enough, do you think he has been given enough time at hooker, I don't think he has played 80 minutes at hooker for the first team in a competitive match?
I liked Heremia (although not as good as some made out), but are we getting value for money playing huge sums of money on a player who plays 40 minutes or less and is getting on and picking more injuries.

| Good player Azza but not particularly consistent. He played in many defeats for us.
Thought Wigan were poor in general.

While I have no love for Wigan I don't want to see teams who will be in the dogfight with Hull FC for the remaining top 8 places picking up unexpected points.
