Quote: Jake the Peg "Says who? Someone on an internet forum?.

I'd guess that the truth in this one lies somewhere between radford being a blabbermouth who can't manage people and crooks having such a bad attitude that the club don't want him any more'"

Or maybe I've spoken to his dad?

I think it's a case of Radford simply not wanting somebody at the club who doesn't want to be there. You can't have one good season and think you're Greg Inglis, then spit your dummy out when you're brought down to earth.

This one is 100% the player, but people will always want to believe it's down to Radford.

You were just saying you were sure Radford was openly slagging Crooks, the consummate professional off. Make your mind up. icon_lol.gif

Too much pub talk all of this.
I am certain Ben Crooks father is hardly going to confide in you regarding his sons future at the club.
You have to look at why he is disolusioned at the club and most of it points to the current coach.

Quote: knockersbumpMKII "The same applies to Radford then no, yet he's shown none of these traits this season, has being clueless from the get go and had no answers to our issues throughout and no mental toughness to deal with the problem nor the guts to own up he was/is out of his depth.
Yet you ascribe Crooks as not being able to take constructive criticism, exactly where are the facts behind that statement..or is another of your made up stories that suit your agenda to blindly back Radford no matter what, even at the cost of slating a player without any evidence of such??
If Crooks can go from being in the SL dream team to being left out and dropped to championship status by our illustrious leader that speaks much more about what is happening at the club & the standard of coaching than it does the player.
Crooks attitude seemed fine to me last season, yet from unsubstantiated sources (yet again) he now has a massive attitude problem etc. It seems so easy for posters such as yourself to have another pop at Crooks & make up stuff without any hard evidence of what is actually happening..more waffle and conjecture taken as facts.'"

Quote: Staffs FC "Ah Peter Gentle - always gets value from his signings.'"

Under Gentle we finished 6th in the league last season and in case you forgot he also took the club to Wembley.
Remind me where we are today in the league?
Gentle also made some good signings Paea,Thompson,McDonnell. Johnson was snapped up by Widnes so cant have been that bad.Pitts has always been a good solid player but Radford didn't like him,and Arundel showed Hull what he can do scoring 2 tries against us.
If you want to look at Bad signings look no further than Colbon, and Tuson.Wont mention Carvell.
Who signed them?

2of them was signed as cover, as all the decent signings had been snapped up before he took over, Tuson had to retire for the good of his own health, Johnson,Pitts, arundel are no good to take the team forward, & oh yeah we are 12th.

Gentle also signed Tony Martin, Jason Crookes and Ben Galea.

Johnson, Arundel and Pitts are all bang average.

Problem with Arundel & Pitts especially was their wages, not that Radford didn't/doesn't rate them. How can you justify Pitts earning four times more than Dean Hadley in a salary cap sport?

2012 we finished 6th in the league and really showed some promise, I left the HJ stadium after our playoff defeat with renewed hope that we were finally on the right track. Fast forward 12 months and we again finished 6th, but then there was the total humiliation of being nilled at Wembley, strangely enough Ben Crooks rushed back far too early and having an absolute mare. Then followed another total humiliation in the playoffs. Sorry, but a complete overhaul is what we need and is what we're getting.

Quote: bonaire "Gentle also made some good signings Paea,Thompson,McDonnell.'"

Agreed.

Quote: bonaire "Johnson was snapped up by Widnes so cant have been that bad.'"

Yet a poorer average gain than Watts, Feka, Paea, Ellis and Carvell. Hardly a devastating loss.

Quote: bonaire " Pitts has always been a good solid player but Radford didn't like him'"

Another 13 SL coaches seem to agree with Radford, hence Pitts having to drop down a division.

Quote: bonaire "Arundel showed Hull what he can do scoring 2 tries against us.'"

Well worth the 4 year deal that Gentle gave him. Which top 4 clubs would make us a cash offer for him, in your opinion?

Quote: bonaire "If you want to look at Bad signings look no further than Colbon, and Tuson.Wont mention Carvell.

The same coach that salvaged Jamie Shaul's career when Gentle wanted rid. That signed Rankin and Talanoa. These three are our top 3 try scorers.
The same coach that this year has given Lancaster, Abdull, Logan HTW debuts.
The same coach that's brought in Sneyd with 30 assists.
The same coach who's changed Westerman's role such that he's in career-best form this year, on the fringes of the national side.

I'm undecided about Radford as he's spent most of this year dealing what he sees as shortcomings in our squad (his choice, obviously). Too blunt in interviews. Not enough structure in attack. I could go on . But to see only the negatives, and flag Pitts as an example of tragic waste, simply exposes your transparent agenda.
