I wasn't being specific about this signing, just saying it's less of a gamble to give a known existing squad member an extension than it is to sign someone new.

As Standee says giving a player of that age a contract extension is a lot different to signing one from the other side of the world. I'm not saying he's a bad signing, I'm saying he's a gamble.

| Its as safe as your gonna manage. 251apperances in a comp that only has 20odd games and is more physical is some record for the style of player he is!

| I'm very pleased with this signing. Would rather have him than Pritchard TBH in view of the latter's injury record.

Isn't any signing a gamble, even a contract extension?
Let's face it, freak accidents or injuries can happen to anyone at any time.

| Not unhappy with this. Good solid pro who will help the younger lads develop and will give us a bit of grunt too.
Any player can get injured as stonesy says so technically any signing is a gamble. No problem with Minicheddars on that score.
More importantly though, if his brother is the Count, is he Oscar? Elmo?

| This shows just how far FC have fallen. The fact that you fans are happy with the signing of an over-the-hill, never-has-been.
I really like your club and your fans, but you lot getting excited by this terrible signing is just pitiful. Such a shame.

| Good work by Hull to get this calibre of player in very happy with the signing. Welcome to Hull Mark.
Very relieved to see this happen. Been worrying for weeks that we'd never see another overseas signing after bonaire said our name was mud down under.

| Good signing and one I hope we will benefit from both on and off the park.
For those saying its a gamble, I would say every signing is gamble. This time last year we were all happy about signing a young English player called Tuson. Look how that one ended. Did anyone jump up and down on here and say that signing was a gamble. I doubt it.
Lets try and sit back and judge when he has a shirt on his back and is putting his body on the line.

What it doesn't show is how far Bradford have fallen, so perhaps you'd be better off commenting on that and leaving us to enjoy our life in Superleague.

| He's a decent player and a good pro but not the kind of signing we needed in the backrow imo. Although with Radford hinting about Ellis moving to prop I wonder if the Pritchard deal might still be on?

| I think I must be the only one completely uninspired by this. We don't need someone to rub off onto the youngsters, we have Ellis for that. We need a wide running, attacking, aggressive ball handler and this just isn't it.
He's a guy, cut by the Titans, who would have preferred to stay in the NRL in his own words. Yes he's a decent player, but I'm completely fed up of the hype. When you say International NRL second Rower, I was hoping for more than three games for Italy.

| If as Radford says, Ellis moves to prop and we sign another back rower then this is an OK signing. Otherwise it's a poor one.
Watched this bloke for years, he's never been anything but average/good on occasions.
