| knocking Colborn for the try, really..he got stepped, a lot better wingers will have being beaten in that position. If we are going to knock players for attempted tackles then the attempt by Westerman (Not Westwood of course..doh) when Chan came through and subsequently got tackled by Shaul. That was the weakest tackle attempt I've seen in ages...in fact since turnstyle Chris Thorman

| was a good performance, frustrating we haven't had many like that so far this season, would have liked to still e in the CC, but we aren't. Hope we go on to win the next 3, season will look quite different.

You're right, Westerman's was poor. Colbon's still was too, though. It was how easily he was beaten, not just the fact that he was.

I lean a bit more to Jake's thinking on Colbon though, he was a weak player in the ranks. His 'attempt' for their try was pathetic, worse than either of the two Arundel was being pilloried for on here. We need another fit winger quick, I fancy Rovers to pick him out next week.'"
Colbon is a stop gap. His attempt for their try was as bad as Arundel's efforts last week. However other parts of his game were satisfactory without being stunning and he does have some enthusiasm in his play which I don't always see in Arundel (my opinion obviously). He is also an out and out winger so that puts him ahead of any other player for the wing position as things stand with injuries.

| I would rather have Colbon on the wing than a centre on the wing.

Both were poor, not sure why the comparsion though from bewteen Westerman and Colborn, westerman was again outstanding and I bet him made 40 tackles and over 20 hits up, I think he does play too many minutes and would benefit from a short break and the reason he missed that tackle.
Apart from that Colborn did Ok, but in reality we dont have any other options, he is the best we have in that position.
My big concern is that teams will target him and also kick behind the wingers, as both our wingers as both seem a bit slow getting back.

| I wasn't calling for Arundel to replace Colbon (hence why I said we need another fit winger, not play a fit centre), I was simply pointing out that his pathetic effort was at least as bad as either of Arundel's, and he wasn't playing out of position, so it was deserving of criticism. He's doing his best (and is even the best of a bad lot of options we currently have), but it isn't good enough and he is a weakness in the side.

The only forward from both sides to play 80, wasn't he?

| The thing is if we are going to say this was poor from X player and the rest was okay (and we know Colborn isn't going to set the world alight in any case) we shouldn't highlight that more than another players poor play, especially when Westerman's effort was worse IMO, Colborn got outdone by a step that we see all the time on all wingers.
Briscoe was done up like a kipper from this loads of times

| I don't think they was much colbon could have done . Hulls defence had been sucked into the middle leaving broughton with loads of space . It's not as though colbon could only show him the outside , almost any winger would score in that position and if it was colbon with that space and didn't score people would still be complaining about him .

| Very good performance.
Carvell & Paea destroyed the Hudds pack.
Ellis in defence was outstanding also.
Build on it and beat a poor KR side next week.

Precisely my initial point, Arundel was ripped into last week, Colbon was worthy of criticism this, in exactly the same position.

| Brilliant performance last night by FC. Thought we benefited a bit from Huddersfield's quick turn around but the way our props played last night would have been enough anyway in my opinion. Paea is a beast and Carvell was also immense. If we can keep Carvell fit he will have a major impact for us in most games.
I thought that everyone gave 100% last night which was encouraging. Defence looked good, our attack looked good. The most pleasing thing for me though was that we didn't make too many errors.

| Stats back up most that I thought about the game, forwards very dominate in attack and defence with Carvell, Paea, Thompson and Houghton all making over 100 metres.
Westerman and Ellis getting through loads of work.
Talonoa getting better each game and made 7 tackle busts.
Rankin also improving each game and turning out to be a very shrewd signing, a try and 2 assists.
Shaul huge metres and very instrumental in two trys and safe as houses.
Excellent team performances.
Colbor worked hard in attack and got some good meters, Hudds best two players were the wingers, wouldn't mind either of them in the Hull squad.
