Quote: @airlie_bird "While the OP may or may not be back that is not the issue. The OP has a serious and valid point. Once you step away from the knee jerk reactions which litter this thread, you realise that the game is being controlled by idiots. A look on twitter today about Hudgell's comments will explain all.
Richard Whiting is dumped on his head in possibly far worse way than we saw in Australia this weekend, but without serious consequences (there by the grace of god) and a panel decide there can be no punishment. But Poore is banned. Also the difference between Paea and Flowers etc etc far too many incidents after just 6 rounds this year. Add in all the shockingly appalling decisions we have seen over the last 3 or 4 years and you start to fully appreciate the frustrations of people who have followed the game (yes the game there is more to life than Hulll FC) for years.
We never had the issues we have now even 10 years ago. Tackle techniques have changed massively for reasons I really don't fully understand. It's all about wrestling now and not a simple one up one down as it always used to be. I think there is something to be said for only have a 5 metre gap and not 10. It would slow the collision and the impacts thus reducing the danger to the players.
These are decisions that have to be made by strong independent knowledgable officials before the game becomes corrupt and the players are seriously injured. We have had a desire to speed the game up and create situations to encourage attacking play, yet we forget the effects long term on players. There is no consistency from officials and we now have a situation were people are turning away from the game. Add in games on every night but Tuesday causing annoyance a plenty and you soon realise that people have bigger issues than simply yet another p155 poor performance from Hull FC.

| My main issue is definitely with how the game is run and officiated. The refs are inconsistent be it over 80 minutes of a match or from one game to the next. Yes, they can make mistakes and it can happen in any sport (just look at what happened in the Chelsea-Arsenal match this weekend for a horrendous error) but it does seem to be happening far too often for my liking in RL and I'd like to see something done about it.
What really leaves a sour taste in my mouth right now though is not the refs but the RFL themselves and particularly their disciplinary panel. There is absolutely no consistency whatsoever in the punishments they are dishing out and it really does seem at times that it's more about who you play for rather than the offence. I'm not disputing the recent bans on Ellis and Paea but I do dispute that they get bans whilst the likes of Ben Flowers and the three Widnes players who spear-tackled Whiting get off scott free. It doesn't seem like there is a level playing field.
After saying all that though, I love Hull FC too much to part from them. Sunday's performance was disgraceful and embarrassing but I'll be there Friday night just like I always am cheering them on.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.

Silly remarks like that do not help anyone.
The point you are missing is yet another supporter of many years standing is walking away and that is a lose to you, me and the club.
This is getting to be a growing trend and making fun of him and the situation helps no one, if it continues it will effect the amount of money the club has to spend on players.

I really couldn't careless about 'smart' and 'childish' comments towards me. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.
Ian you do have a valid point and from reading this forum many, many members are lost due to these trolls.
However, the state of RL, it's administrators and shiote refs has made this decision easier.
I will always be a Black & White and who knows, one day change may happen and I will come back, but it's down to the club Owners to force the changes.
BTW, not wasting money in my opinion does not mean I cannot comment on forums....ohhh I forgot stupid me "I'm not a true supporter"

| There's been far darker days than these. I started in 1978 and seen some awful seasons, but I haven't thought about chucking the towel in. Those of us who went to every single game home and away during the Peter Walsh days will remember the laughs we had on the buses, knowing we were paying to watch our team get shafted and hammered most weeks with the odd great moment. Even in the bad times, it was good to be an FC fan, because of the clan-mentality of the Faithful.
Sadly, I can't get to many away games nowadays - work and family have to come first.

Aye, hardly Pearson's fault the massive failings of the RFL. Protest against them, not your club, who need all our dissenting voices to battle for fairness in our great sport and a fair crack of the whip for Hull FC, and all the other clubs who are second amongst equals.
Pearson (and Hudge) need our support now of all times.

I am not stopping going, and probably never will ( unless I get banned ) but it is unnerving that a lot of fans are stopping going, from some clubs
