Geography doesn't help, the further a club for the traveller the more it hits numbers.

It would be great if the club's could come together and fix a price for away fans say £18 for standing £20 for seating even if that is cheaper than for home fans it's still fair as that price is set if anyone travels, it's almost a discount for making the effort. Obviously though the tickets for away matches would have to be purchased at your own club and bought before match day.

You could even create an away day season ticket from your own club which includes coach travel, ticket and a voucher for one drink, if all the club's actually went to an RFL meeting and came together for the greater good that would make a welcome change.

This.

I know Newcastle United have reciprical agreements with several other premier league clubs which caps the away fans tickets prices.

While I welcome the move to get more fans in the ground (be it home or away fans) I think the club are up against a lot of different negative factors on this one.

Firstly we are geographically out on a limb, and while the stretch of Motorway/A-Road from Cas to Hull is one of the quietest in the country, that 40 minute gap puts many from West Yorkshire & Lancashire off.

secondly we choose to play Friday nights, while I personally agree with this, as it is better for the corporate support (more income) and means less re-scheduled games for SKY...it isn't as good as Sunday afternoons for away fans.

thirdly there have been some unfortunate incidents in recent years of coaches getting windows smashed on the way out of Hull..and while this may have had nothing to do with HullFC, our fans or the KC Stadium, if you're memory of a city was off smashed glass landing in your lap on your way home, you wouldn't rush back.

so yeah, I support this move, but I don't think it will be a quick job. Also the quickest way to get away (and home) gates up is to play well consistently, the fans turn out for important matches, Warrington the other year for example brought thousands as they would lift the League Leaders Shield if they won, and more away fans would come if their game against Hull was a battle for a top4 spot, rather than a 'dead rubber' mid-table game.

As a Warrington fan I had a conversation with Clarke about this last February. Until you bring north stand prices back in line with the south stand people will perceive the club as unwelcoming.

Personally it is one of my favourite days of the year buts can understand why many feel aggrieved. Hope you all have a safe trip over here today.

Quote: Chris28 "Well 1000 at £18 is better than 750 at £20 so this looks a good plan. Plus there's potential for food and drink sales.

If it works the argument would be to reduce for home fans too to try and fill the empty spaces.
If you know we're to look or who to ask, you can get discounted tickets icon_wink.gif

Some good ideas there.

I'm all for clubs working together to offer incentives for away fans.

Interesting that the report only mentions discounted coach travel for Bradford fans this Friday but the usual moaners have to turn this into a negative and ask where our discounted travel is.

Just be thankful the club are trying things to increase numbers at matches.

Not looking for either sympathy or a pat on the back but, with the exception of Catalans and London, Hull & Rovers fans have further to travel over the course of the season and always take big numbers - aside from playing each other, our nearest away game is Cas, nearly 50 miles away so it'd be great if we could get some cheap(er) tickets as well.

Having looked at the prices charged by the Wolves, I don't think your argument has any merit whatsoever.

Cheapest tickets are in the away stand, if your fans want to pay silly money to sit in the north (the premium stand) that's their fault
