Which other SL team with top 8 aspirations would pick Horne at halfback? Not many.......

The sad thing is hes the best we've got. Wonder what odds I'll get for Hull not kicking a 40/20 for the entire 2014 season!

Azza got 2 last year, Horney 1, Houghton 1. And we're bringing in a new half too.

Not that the squad numbers mean a thing anyway to be fair, especially this season it looks more "political" to me rather then an actual statement of intent, Lineham will not play left wing for example.

That said though, if Horne and Miller are our first choice 6 and 7, I really worry about our long range kicking game, both can put neat little attacking kicks but I think are lacking in this department, and arguably the most important attribute for a modern halfback, remember how poor we were in this department in the Agar days, think this was something we improved greatly under Gentle.

It's only a number.
It doesn't gaurantee him a starting spot but based on last year's form I'd say he deserves it.
Also based on yours and Diablo's theory does that mean that azza gets no where near the first team as he will have 33 on his back.

Of course. You've been the dominant force in the city for the last 2 years (as per your sig), so we've thrown the towel in.

You probably won't appreciate the irony, but that's Standee's favourite comeback when losing an argument about a player. It doesn't wash when he uses it either - not least because I don't come from Hull and neither do a few others who post on here.

And Horne is hardly unassailable in any case. He regularly comes in for criticism.

And finally - I've been a critic of Yeaman for years. As have a few others.

Any other 'arguments' you'd like me to blow holes in?

Can anyone tell me who the f**k else we could name at six? We have no one else at this moment in time and if we get someone he will have 36 or whatever number comes until he is the regular six. Yes Horne is in his twilight years but how many of us noticed our drop in form when he got injured this year?

I'm as ed off as the next person that we are not top of the league and winning everything in sight but I would rather have Horne playing six than some overpaid git who doesn't even want to be here FFS.

Quote: penny for your thoughts "play Whiting there As much as I like Whiting and if asked he would do a sterling job as ever but he is not our answer for six. He is not quick enough and besides is better used as a versatile sub. Every club would want a whiting but nobody would start with him.

Blow holes? Really though? You're backing up the sheep on here who reckon Horne is the answer, when he clearly isn't. He had a few good games this year and none for the last 3 years.

Give it up banging the drum, you clearly have a crush. icon_lol.gif

Well as you seem to be well versed in all things rugby league, perhaps you could tell us who you would be playing instead of Horne.
