| I only know because of last year's discussion. Not everyone from Hull has a fishing background.

| I didn't know about the green thing till last year. Still wore a green hoody to some of the games though, nothing bad happened, off the pitch anyway.

Something to do with it being bad luck to wear green on a boat/ship/trawler, the link to Hull FC being the city's fishing heritage.
Ignore standee, like someone else said I only knew this because it was discussed here last year and I'm from Hull.

that demonstrates how poorly engaged with their locality and history people have become.

its a trawlermans superstition..........
red and green shall not be seen,
except upon a gypsy queen,,,
its because they correspond to the colours of the navigation lights.......,

| So Hull FC, based in West Hull.
West Hull - play in green.
Not sure I understand how we avoid it but they don't

Used to play for West Hull, I was speaking to Sir Jonny Whitely at training one night when he came down to watch. Apparently he chose the colours for West Hull (Green & Gold) due to him coaching Great Britain to victory over Australia.
Don't know how true that is, but if true. Then the colour green doesn't seem to bother him.

| I do prefer a predominantly white home kit. Like the white star idea.

| I also used to play for West Hull and have indeed had the conversation with Johnny Whitely about him choosing the Green and Gold of Australia when he was asked to choose colours for West Hull many years back. He told me this whilst my 2 year old had him wrapped around his little finger whilst he was trying to judge the MoM in the ameature cup final hthis year between Wests and Norland at Craven Park. Great guy.

I "can't be that ill" because I managed to click a few buttons on my laptop?
Sorry I'll come to you next time instead of my GP, Dr The Peg.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "I'd like us to be a bit more adventurous with out away kit for once. Every year it's either just a reverse of the home kit or a dull navy blue/black effort. Nothing too outlandish, just a bit more interesting.
Something similar to Tottenham's away sky blue effort would look great imo. Or a Celtic shirt but with green irregular hoops.'"
No thanks.
