Pretty sure that is only for "overseas" players.

Nope, Kirk Dixon was non fed.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the rules changed tbh.

| Excited by the signing, he looks to have a RL style to his game. He will have things to work on though and hopefully we can get him early or least get him training with us a couple of times a week.

| Barring injuries at Bath, I think they'll release him early. He's not in their first choice starting XV at the moment (massive Rokoduguni a revlation). So wouldn't be surprised to see him pitch up for start of season.

Quote: Sheldon "6 – What is a ‘Non Federation Trained’ player?
- In simplified terms, a ‘Non Federation Trained’ player is one who was not playing for a club within the Rugby League European Federation between age 16-21.
- Clubs are limited to five ‘Non Federation Trained’ players only.
7 – Can there be ‘Non Federation Trained’ exemptions?
- There are a number of current Super League players who would otherwise count as ‘Non Federation Trained’ who have been given ‘Federation Trained’ player status by RFL dispensation.
- Such dispensations have largely been granted on account of the players in question having been playing for an RFL member club (whether in the UK or France) before the rules were introduced.'"
So he would be Non fed then unless he gets dispensation.
However the RFL would be hard pressed to enforce the 5 player rule due to EU regulations etc I would assume.

Not normally
My reading of the rules had him as non fed but not sure that would be enforceable on an Englishman

There's a 'new talent pool' rule, but somebody looked into that and there was an age limit. I think the non-fed limit was meant to be going up, but that might have been one of the things that was meant to be ratified at the now-postponed EGM.

Difficult one - if it takes a fee and as you'd have to pay him during the off-season, I can see why you'd wait. Having paid him through their off-season I'd assume Bath will want some vfm - he's only an injury (as you say) or an autumn international call-up from from getting back in their XV and is in the 22 anyway, from what people have said.
On the other hand, mid-May would equate to about round 12 or 13, I'd guess. At least wing doesn't require as much adjustment as most other positions.

As the rule is predicated entirely on training not nationality, it [ishould[/i be. But they've made numerous dispensations in the past, and it is stated in the rules that they are free to do so at their discretion. If the limit is going up to 7 and bearing in mind Feka won't count and that Hull are bringing in a local players theme, probably not an issue anyway.

Shouldn't be but if Biggs get's dispensation we able to get 10 non fed players for next season, hardly what the rules are in place for.

The RFL seem to be encouraging going for union players with a dispensation on the salary cap so I don't think they would then stand in the way regarding non fed trained
