| In regards to the Academy structure, it's does confuse me somewhat! So do Hull effectively take over Hull KR's academy? Will Hull have the pick of youngsters through the academy?
We have a lot of youngsters in the city, surely having one full time academy will lower the numbers making it through to Superleague?

| Is this not just the top tier? Surely they're not going to just have 8 squads of youngsters in the whole country affiliated to the pro ranks?
That would be as stupid as starting a season not knowing what division you'll end the season in

| Come to think of it, could this be an early indication to the structure of the new league?

We have been formally accredited as the fourth best academy this season. There will be only one academy in Hull and we believe it will be run by Hull FC."'"
Cheers!

| What Pearson talks about is elite academies. As far as I understand the RFL will have eight Elite coaching academies but individual clubs will still run academies.
If not we have to ask why Rovers have drawn up plans for Educational & Training facilities for our academy behind the East stand, Wilf mentioned about Hull signing 17 full time players as if it's something new, The question put to Pearson was "Last year you created the ASSE apprenticeship" That talks as if Pearson actually created the apprenticeship scheme which is misleading as Rovers already had players on the ASSE Programme last season and have added a further six players to that system in readiness for 2014.
Quote: Last year you created the ASSE apprenticeship "“Six of the boys – Ben Holdstock, Cory Sanderson, Chris Smith, Liam Wake, Liam Harris, Kieran Moran - will be going onto our AASE Programme (advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence) which will provide them with a rugby league orientated education and a BTEC Level 3 qualification.”
“That’s based down at Craven Park where they’ll do the education side of things alongside their rugby league training. The boys will be with us in a full-time environment so we’ll be able to keep an eye on their progress on both fronts. '"
Rovers have had to play catch up since 2007 and considering where we currently stand I don't think we've done to bad. With the level of investment coming into Craven Park and with the South stand development due to be announced and the building of decent academy facilities not to long in the distance I think it's wrong of people to think that the academy structure in Hull is sewn up.

Eight team Super League, Don't me soft, That would spell the death of Professional Rugby League in this country.

Catch up? Give us a break its the old tiring excuse. The likes of featherstone have produced numerous quality players its was just rovers turning the blind eye to it and going for the quick fix method

Maybe we did turn a blind eye for many seasons and for that we've paid the price 10 fold in having to pay over the odds for average overseas players that most would have preferred coming through the ranks of the academy. We've seen a shift in attitude at Rovers and long may it continue.

2007? Maybe. Sometimes with more commitment than others depending on resources, of course. Should be ok moving forward with the £50k per month Russian funds, if you invest wisely for the long term and don't do a Salford-esque quick fix with no back-up for the future.
Hull, and Pearson, have been playing catch-up since 2011, of course. Rather a lot acheived in a mere 2 years, you'll agree. Shows what can be done when you execute a long-term rational plan rather than cannon-ball blindly, with immediate gratification your aim.

Hull KR - 4
Players and parents reported that they feel valued by the committed staff in the Hull KR Academy.
The club urgently needs to address its staffing structure and provide better access to facilities for all players – both of these issues are having an adverse effect on the progress being made by the players.
There are plans to expand the AASE programme and provide greater educational opportunities for the Academy players so that they can study alongside a more full time training environment.
Grade 4 - Weak
An assessment of weak applies to performance characterised by some strengths, but where there are important weaknesses. In general, an evaluation of weak may be arrived at in a number of circumstances. While there may be some strengths, the important weaknesses will, either individually or collectively, be sufficient to diminish the impact, outcomes and experiences for players in substantial ways. It implies the need for structured and planned action on the part of the academy.

Featherston drew a 4 the same as us and we smacked them 114-0 so think we can say those scores are rather pointless.

Unless they determine who gets an elite academy, of course.
