| On the Met Office website they've got light snow for Hull early Sunday morning so nothing to worry about. HDM doing the typical newspaper thing of making the forecast look worse than it actually is.

Since when has the Met Office or newspapers got the weather right?

Exactley, we only need to worry when the forecast that there will not be any sort of bad weather storm as normally when they say a weather front is going to miss us it usually is the opposite.
But then again first game of the season always to be expected a drop in temperature I guess

| The pitch looked surprisingly ok after the weather and football on it, but it was just a quick glimpse on Sky.
Really looking forward to the game though

ive got hopes that Seymour will silence his critics this season, but he'll need to improve in a couple of areas.
31st in the league for try assists with only 12 (not good enough for top 4)
9th for missed tackles with 59 (2nd worst for hull fc last season only manu missed more)

How is a "try assist" defined? Think to be fair to Seymour he was implicated in a fair few trys last season. Passing is his biggest asset, and he may well have produced passes that put us in a position to score a try (e.g. from memory Tony Martin try at Magic) without being the person to directly deliver the pass to the tryscorer.
No doubt he needs to miss less tackles though. He is no Chris Thorman as he is quite prepared to put his shoulder in, trouble is he seems to let them slip on through.

| I'm not overly concerned about his mis-tackles as when is a half brought in to be a tackling machine? Yes it would be nice to have a top tackler, but tbh I think he's actually one of the better defending halves in the league. Has good technique too.
Like has already been said, Seymour may not have made the 'final' pass for a try to be awarded the assist so it's not a clear indication of his input imo.

what i do read as a clear indication is that the likes of Dobson, Chase, Brough and Dureau (the best most effective half backs) all have more than double the assists. try assists are a by product of being a productive half back.
