| Quote: Kosh "Blunderside gave the impression that we were largely poor and Catalan were worse. Always in negative mode those jokers.'"
On holiday so rang my mum after the game to hear what had gone on per the RH commentary - delighted by the scoreline. She relayed the report of a poor performance and them banging on about how much work we have in front of us. Is that a fair reflection of a scratch team beating 3rd placed Catalans by a margin of 20?

Both teams made hashes of a few would be tries, but the fact remains that the opportunities were made, so neither side played badly. In fact, Catalan's movement and commitment to provide runners and keep the ball alive is to be admired. Our desire in defence was outstanding for 80 minutes though. With 3 minutes left and a 20 point lead we still had 3 in the tackle trying to force a dropout from 10 yards out and very nearly doing it. Several players had their best games for weeks IMO, and I think it was probably our best performance since Leeds considering the quality of opposition.

| We were quite disjointed in attack but our defence is coming back to where it was earlier in the season, it could be random but we seem to be giving less penalties away.
Briscoe ran well from fullback but his handling wasn't great, Lineham was strong again and took a good high ball. The pack was strong against their big set. Seymour seems a shadow of his earlier form, I have heard he has quite bad knee injury and is playing through it.

Fantastic result today though, and a pleasure to watch our young ones stepping up to the mark.'"
Don't fully agree with that, our most dominant spell in possession was the first 20 of the 2nd half and Heremaia was one of those at his best for weeks. If you just mean the way we finished the first half after the change though, then I'd probably agree.

| catalan came with a game plan, slow the PTB down and try and bully fc, for the first twenty odd minutes i thought they would get on top, but then we just seemed to match and frustrate their forward pack and in the second half we totally dominated their pack! ref was poor again allowing catalans to play the game to how they wanted it!

| Very impressed with Ben Crookes today, seemed to do everything right with and without the ball.
How good is it to see an FC team with the pace of Briscoe and Lineham.

That was what I was relating to tbh, I really like Heremaia and I think he offers some-thing different I am sure the transition will be smoother on the pitch as we progress.

Needs to get some muscle on him though, Duport brushed him off for his try. Hopefully a full preseason will sort that out.

Hull fans, why do you need to abuse a player when he comes off? Makes ur club look like from an outside perspective and not tough. If...
..You think u can do better come on the field and put a jumper on #hullfansdereks
Oh dear, bad loser

| Thought Les Cats were very ordinary today. Before anyone shouts me down, yes, you only have to beat what's in front of you but for me the game was summed up by that moment in the 2nd half when they threw the ball out wide to the left, had a 4 to 1 overlap, and chucked it into touch.
For a team that's challenged most of the season, they looked completely out of sorts today.
