The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Besides, why he eats there is irrelevant. He still has the right to express an opinion on the matter as a regular customer of the business.
Well, the underlined part is open to debate. I don't consider £5 to get into a pub (for whatever reason) to be a bargain.'"
Well if he's a lazy , the walk to another pub will do him good.

Maybe he should just charge £3.25 because if things go the usual route everyone will be leaving after 60 minutes anyway

Work in the cost of the equipment, the card to receive the encrypted channel and it is reasonable. Saying he will use that equipment again in the future, of course he will but not very often. He cannot use it to show premier league football due to legal reasons so it will be a case of buying a card for 1 or 2 games a season.
At the end of the day you have a choice of whether to go or not he is not forcing anybody to go.

Actually, I think there was a test case a while back where a pub landlady was using a Greek (?) channel to show Premier League games. She was sued by Sky and won.

Indeed. I was just expressing an opinion. I wouldn't be going anyway as I live 60 miles away. That M62 can be dicey after 6 or 7 pints.

I'm not paying a fiver to go to the pub, I'm paying a fiver to get into the only venue in Hull showing something Id like to see. I pay more than that to go to the cinema. Isnt it a fiver a week to get Hull FC tv and watch the match from a crappy camera angle?
What a fuss about nothing.

Did you miss the part where I said 'for whatever reason'?
I don't consider paying a fiver to get into a pub is good value. Pubs make their money from selling booze. This pub will sell loads of the stuff at a time when they wouldn't normally be anywhere near as busy. Adding an entrance fee is, in my opinion, profiteering.
Quote: Robbo4 "I pay more than that to go to the cinema. '"
And that's your choice. Just as it's my choice to say I don't think the cinema represents good value for money.
Quote: Robbo4 "Isnt it a fiver a week to get Hull FC tv and watch the match from a crappy camera angle?'"
Dunno, I don't get that, either.

Exactly, the fact we're all Hull fans has blinded people's judgement on this. So to put it into another perspective, if you turned up to YOUR LOCAL for something to eat or a few pints and they had an event on that they were charging for but had no interest to you, would you be happy to pay that cost to get into the pub? My point was that if you're a regular, you're having to pay out a £5 note to get into somewhere where it's free every other day. In effect you stick two fingers up at your regulars for the sake of £1000 - £1500

| Is anyone allowed to start threads advertising their business, or does this bloke have special dispensation?
If so, I will be posting a thread in the next couple of days advertising my latest tour
It's a show starring myself as the main act, singing, dancing, some stand-up comedy and a couple of very interesting anecdotes from my life involving a-list celebrities.
Tickets will be £45, with some going to the charity, 'Top Hats & Waistcoats'*.
* - 'Top Hats & Waistcosts' are a charity I founded, which specialises in making tailored top hats and waistcoats for wild polar bears.

| Quote: Robbo4 "or if you look at it another way he has effectively closed his pub for the evening and turned it into a sports viewing venue. Presumably he won't be able to offer the usual food service due to the volume of people so he is simply making up his loss in food takings by charging an entry fee
You don't think the wall to wall beer drinkers will more than offset lost food revenue? It's a lot easier to make profit from booze than it is cooked food. If you think of what goes into preparing a main course at six quid or a pint at three quid, you'd sell the pint over the main course every day of the week.
This'll teach me not to get involved in things that don't concern me. Actually, it probably won't...

As the pub will be at maximum capacity you wouldn't get in anyway. Actually I'd just go to a different pub for the 1 time in the entire year that this was happening and stop moaning.
