His days were obviously numbered when he kicked that 40-20 on the telly earlier this year. Can't be having any of that show pony stuff at the KC, I reckon..........

I never saw Jamie play for you guys, but in the championship he was a very good player.
Now I know it's the championship, but some players do make the 'step up' quite easily, Chris Hill (ex Leigh) is doing well at Wire. But Chris had 6 seasons in the nl1/champ, and a season in SL when he was only 19/20. But as for Jamie, his problem (apart from weight !!) for a half back, is that he went to SL too early. After spending years in Saints academy, made only two 1st team apperances, Jamie has only really had one full season of 'open age' rugby. Thought Hull/SL was a too bigger step up, and also did you need another 6 or no. 7 ??
Maybe a 'lesser' top flight club, coupled with a SERIOUS weighchers diet would have been better for him. Still only young though, he has got the talent....honest !!

 I agree it's a strange one.
Perhaps Russell has been recalled and with moa and tickle missing for friday Gentle would need play whiting and westerman in in the forwards rather than in the halves? |
