| Quote: Panda92 "Did anyone else notice Crooks saving a try on the left wing in about the 51st minute.
Brown almost scores on our right edge. Ball is played about 3 metres from touch and is taken over to our left side by Hudds.
As soon as the ball was played Crooks sprinted across our ingoal to the left wing and managed to collect Hudds' kick-through, pretty much saving a try.
Great read of the game by him. Think he'll have a good future.'"
It was actually Seymour shouting at him to do just that. Great thinking by Seymour and great effort to get over there and save a try!

| Not a great performance, kicking game was poor.
Still, a win is a win and it should instill some confidence which has been lacking lately.

yeah, me too probably - the real test for Charnley would be to play in a side which doesn't give him such great service
as a neutral, pound for pound I would take Briscoe
looking forward to seeing him at Perpignan

| Noticed it today and it happened a lot against Saints. Wille Manu seems to come into field a lot more when it would look better to keep passing it wide to Yeaman and Briscoe. A lot of people say Briscoe has been quiet this season but to be fair he hasn't seen the ball as much as we're used to seeing

| I thought we were pretty poor today, however the fact we played for the full 80 got us the win today and well done to the lads for that. If we are to stand any chance of finishing in a decent position we really need to up our game by a fair few notches.
I thought Horney went very well at f/back and hit the line a few times and was good defensively. Really impressed with Watts and I think as he gets fitter he will be a very shrewd signing. I thought Seymour threw a couple of shocking passes today, however I thought Whiting was his usual awesome self.Heremeia looks a fantastic signing and I cannot wait to watch him develop from now till the end of the season.

He also gave some very good ones.
Horney did well again at FB, coming into the line on both sides in attack. If we don't complete the luxury of signing a specialised FB next season, which I would prefer, then Horney would do a solid enough job there for us.

I don't disagree that Horney would do a very good job, however my only fear is his injuries appear to be increasing.

| Sloppy with ball at times and struggled a bit against their rush defence but overall we competed and scored 5 tries so not a poor performance but a reasonable one based on where we are and where we're coming from in terms of recent results. I though Horne showed some class touches and Seymour as ever worked his backside off to create stuff - sometimes it came off and sometimes it didn't but the guy is essentially our lone play maker. Good to see Heremaia get some more time and look proficient while he was on. Thought Westerman was once again fairly anonymous and Tickle below par although he was apparently playing with injury. Briscoe had more influence on a game than he's had for a while which was good to see.
Good 2 points after what's gone - we had to cart it out a hell of a lot with Hudds/Brough's tactic of deep kicking but in the end had enough. The last try play was class and for once superbly executed and overall we did enough to deserve it.

| Quote: scarrie "I actually thought we were quite poor today.
We seemed listless and laboured to me and the body language was terrible at times. Our passing was truly shocking at points and all their timings seemed to be off.
I'm glad we won but I've no idea how we managed it.'"
Pretty much my thoughts, luckily Giants were just as poor or it could have been another long day.
Standouts for me were Whiting and Heremaiai. Horne played well also. Westerman was anonymous, Tickle was very quiet (although he did take a knock) and Manu took the wrong option way too many times.
Re the Crooks sprinting the width of the pitch to save a try, Seymour just before the PTB had told him to get across once the ball was played and moving that way. Crooks did great with that and fielded the kicks well today, however no real testing kicks from Hudds.

| Wasn't at Warrington, but by all accounts we played better then previous weeks. Today we played better still. Gentle said that form isn't just flicked on and off like a light switch, but it builds over weeks of hard work, so let's hope it's the start of a bit of momentum.

Funny out games are viewed differently by different people. I thought Westy did well today and tackled their big blokes very hard in defence. Showed some great passion in the second half. Also thought Brough's kicks were very testing at times, especially his kick offs.

| Have to agree thought westerman was good today, still not our best but won in the end. Must say Brough was impresive today with his kicking game and he took our line on very well.Hope he is one of the 6 for next season.

That's what makes good discussions People see different things in players so have differing opinions on how they played. Re the kicks, I only recall one testing high kick were Hudds were also challenging for the ball and Whiting took that quite comfortably. He did split the defence well at times but nothing that really put us in danger. It was daft mistakes allowing breaks and the ref that were our downfall in defence today.
